The best thing about Konosuba is that even though almost everything is played for laughs, the actual writing and execution of the anime is honestly surprisingly well done. The relationships, exceptional character development, the setups for the jokes, the punchlines, and the overall just genuinely charming characters is really high quality for an anime in general, but especially so for a parody anime. It's basically a really high quality parody that happens to be higher quality than a lot of non-parody anime. It's like somebody who actually knows how to make good anime decided to clown on people who don't by making an anime that makes fun of them while simultaneously being just a better anime. It's great.

In my opinion, Megumin is the best person for Kazuma because as we saw in the 3rd season, every time something happens to Kazuma, Megumin is there or supports Kazuma. For example, in the 10th episode, when Kazuma gave up on saving Darkness, Megumin listened to him and saw how hard he tried, so she told him that no matter what he do, he shouldn't regret it.

Mostly because unlike most Japanese Anime, let alone isekai, Konosuba characters are heavely flawed people. Kazuma is a self proclaimed pervert, blunt, smug bastard, yet he cares a lot for his teammates. He doesn't give them special treatment despite them being girls. Same for aqua, megumin amd Darkness. Flawed and incorrigible, yet each full of depth. Kazuma doesn't hesitate to ground aqua, berate megumin or belittle darkness by embarrassing her for real, and likewise, when something aweful happens to him, it's well deserved. It's refreshing to see a guy in an all female team without the harem shenanigans: aqua and Kaz are always fighting like siblings, he knows exactly how to get under Darkness skin despite her masochism and his relashionship with megumin grows in a realistic way : lots of bickering and complicit moments and a solid trust. It's also great to have characters who say what they think, are honest to each other without reserve and take bold initiatives, even if the results don't always match their expectations

Nah, it was only after the movie that there's a legit romance between them Around season 1 and 2, it was just the usual misunderstanding lucky fanservice moments. Darkness and Megumin talking together in Alcanretia hotspring is probably the only closest thing to their "romance progress" Though if you're talking about Megumin specifically, she just kinda naturally fell in love with Kazuma in oppose to Darkness having Kazuma saved her like a prince on a white horse in this season. I don't know if it's in the side story, spin-off, or later volumes where Megumin talked confirmed about it, and it's basically, aside from how he accepted Megumin for who she is after getting shunned by so many parties, he always accompanied her in her daily explosion, willingly gave her piggyback ride home and even appreciate her craft. Basically, Megumin is the "gamer otaku" while Kazuma is "that person who enjoyed watching you play games and praise you whenever you finished a level even though they're not as passionate". Easy to imagine, right?

I have been reading the novels recently and it pains me to see how kazuma and megumin's relationship was translated into the anime. If Kazuma ever gets with any of them, I root for Megumin all the way. Like with Aqua I just see them as siblings. Darkness I feel like the only attraction he has for her is her body (excluding that they just feel like friends, although idk how Darkness feels). But Megumin is just different, i'll let this video do the talking. unrelated but the way kazuma go "DUNKUU" instead of "DOKI" at 2:17 bro is so weird and im here for it xD

Spoilers from the Light Novel if you care: Aqua very much is his friend and sibling and nothing more. Kazuma's love for her is entirely platonic and he reacts with disgust whenever someone even hints at the idea of him having a crush on her. Darkness very much falls in love with Kazuma and he does feel for her too, but he despite his words to the contrary, he doesn't actually want a harem and he chooses Megumin. Besides that, he just gets along with her the best and really enjoys the Crimson Demon culture for all that he mocks it.

Me personally I like his relationship with Lalatina a bit more. Specifically Lalatina not Darkness as they are two completely different characters to me lol. They kind of have that teasing relationship that aqua and kazuma have but she also gives off more onee San vibes trying to look out for him when he’s acting foolish. Where as megumin is just as foolish if not more foolish than Kazuma most of the time which makes sense I guess since she’s still a child I believe 14 maybe just turning 15 but she’s never had anything to help her mature
