Bought this 7 years ago for 60€. Today i recognize that it can´t test a LED in Diode Mode. Because of only 2x AAA 1,5V Batteries and open circuit voltage of 1,5V as the manual states? My other cheap Voltcraft VC135 (with 9V Block Battery) will test it (LED glows), but can´t display the value over 2V because of 3,5 digit LCD 😠 I think it´s time for some UNI-T model now.

Hi hectorpascale: While you are correct the the EX330 is sufficient to test LED's - I don't think that most casual users of this type of Meter will be testing LED's - This Meter was chosen because it meets the requirements for most "weekend warriors" for the type of work shown on this channel - There are always more expensive choices for more specific tasks. The EX330 is hard to beat based on price and features - Chris

@@northsideservicecompany3567 Thank you! I saw another video on fluke meters and they show putting the meter on OHMS and one lead from amps to milliamps and if it zeroed out fuses were ok. O.L = bad fuses. I wasnt sure if this aplied to these metes.

When switch is OFF the voltage appears at the switch. Its only detecting current, not voltage presence!

I Think you are referring to the selector wheel for the measurement ranges/options. I have opened my EX330 and it has 8 plastic "nubbies" to hold the 8 copper contacts. So here it´s 8+8! Oops, i nearly lost the 2 steel balls for the "clicky action"

That one has the pretty colors! How come others don't?
@northsideservicecompany3567
@northsideservicecompany3567 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Jess: Many times the colors and look of products have a lot to do with the manufacturers attempt to create a Trademarked look for their products - which helps protect them from cheap knockoff's. A good example are products made by Hakko - who adopted their current design look of bright blue and yellow. These colors are Trademarked and also easily identifiable - although this does not stop all knockoffs - it probably does help - Chris

@@jesscorbin5981 The display is a Liquid Crystal Display and because it's quit large - it captures the overhead lights and refracts the light into its different spectrums. You're exactly right - it's just like shining light through a prism. - Chris

My only complaint about this meter is that it auto powers off even when you are actively using it, taking measurements etc. beeps and powers off. Most annoying. Will be sure to avoid this in the next meter I purchase

Hi Christopher: On Page 11 in the Owner's Manual - With the Meter off, hold down MODE button while turning on. "APO d" will appear in the display. The Auto Power off will return the next time you power the Meter on. - Chris

@@northsideservicecompany3567 Thanks for responding- I did search for a solution to this annoyance and found the method you described. It has to be repeated every time you use the meter and if you forget to turn it off, the meter will run until batteries are drained. I will look for a meter that has a better power management system than this model, that senses measurements as active use. Great clear video and a good meter apart from the power off

Speaker resistance is not the same a speaker impedance. The impedance is a measure of reactance in ohms when a 1Khz sine wave is applied to the speaker under test. The ohm meter measurement is only the DC resistance of the speaker coil wire.

Hi GeekWireless: While your description is mostly technically correct - the average homeowner doesn't care and doesn't need to know the technical differences between impedance and resistance. Bogging people down in technical theory doesn't encourage them to use their tools to solve the problem at hand - it only confuses and frustrates them and the problem will not be resolved. Keeping it simple makes it easier for the average person to have the confidence to try - Chris

theuser manual doesn't define it, so what is OL to represent? you are the one who said it doesn't mean over load that make you responsible to inform the world what in means in this context.
