Oh my god dude, you're a legend, thank you SO MUCH. I'm going to be in São Paulo soon to be with my boyfriend, and wanted to stay until around 160 days on my tourist visa, and I couldn't find concise information about this anywhere online. This puts my mind at ease and is going to make the process of getting my extension so much easier for my boyfriend and I. Glad you found it helpful😃🤝 Recently, someone else confirmed that a CPF is NOT required for the extension, but it is useful to have in Brazil, so I'd personally recommend getting one. Hello and good morning. Thank you so much for the video Step By Step Guide. I am a bit confused if you could help me out please. I am in Sao Paulo but traveling to Florianopolis which is where I'll be requesting an extension. My confusion is this...Okay so I have the page you mentioned where you fill it out with parents name etc...is that the appointment you are scheduling when you do that? Do you get an email or something when you fill it out? Secondly you showed another page which is where you pay. Which one do you do first? Or does it matter? So I have to print that page out as well? That's the part that is confusing because I think I need to show that I have paid the $110.44 R when I show up to the scheduled appointment where they rubber stamp the additonal 90 days. So I will need passport, Airbnb Reservation of my stay(s), Flight Booking to and from or only leaving?, and 3 months of bank statements? Thank you so much....

Hi, you do not need to make an appointment to extend your visa, you can just show up with your paperwork and they'll see you right away. No emails needed either 😉 You are correct that you need to pay before you go to the federal police, so you're basically printing out a bill and taking that bill to the bank, who will keep half and stamp the other part "paid". That part is what you take with you to the federal police. I did not take any flight information with me, but the other documents you mentioned, I did take. I just received an email that states you can go directly to apply for a visa extension: "Os pedidos/informações de prorrogação de estada devem ser realizados pessoalmente numa Unidade de Polícia Federal. Caso tratar-se dessa Superintendência da Polícia Federal de São Paulo (Rua Hugo D´Antola, 95, Lapa de Baixo), o(a) senhor(a) deverá comparecer ao 3º andar - Setor de Atendimento do NUCAD/DELEMIG/DREX/SR/PF/SP, sem necessidade de agendamento. A solicitação deve ser realizada ANTES do vencimento do prazo atual. O horário de atendimento dessa unidade é de segunda à quinta das 8h30 às 17h30 e de sexta das 8h30 às 16h30 (exceto feriados). Atenciosamente, NUCAD/DELEMIG/DREX/SR/PF/SP"

What did you use for your proof of income? Was there a certain amount of money they required to be in your bank account or which exact document did you use?

I used the first page of my bank statements for three different months. It was not listed on the requirements, but I threw it in there anyway. The digital nomad visa that I got (and will make a video about soon) requires you to earn at least $1,500 per month.

I think I heard visa requirements get more stricter after April 10 (visa required to enter brazil after April 10), so I wanted to apply for my extension before that. How early can I apply for an extension if my 90 days is up on May9?

Thanks for watching! For the visa extension you can do it no sooner than one month before, so that would be April 9 for you. Seems like you have a one day window to not get caught up in the bureaucracy, and I think it's perfectly doable, as I did almost everything in one day. If you plan and pay for stuff a bit before and show up on the 9th, I think you'll be fine. I've also heard about this eVisa taking affect in April, after being pushed back twice from Oct 2023, but only time will tell what really happens.

It depends on where you're planning to live. I know some people that have found good deals on Airbnb, others through word of mouth, and then there's always google searches. Surely you'll be able to find something😉
