its good to see people are still looking this clip up. the music is as epic as the series was. Battlestar Galactica was one of those shows i truuully felt sad when it ended and i am glad they ended it so profecionaly and in spectactular fashion.

I love how well the change from Enemy of the State theme to Crimson tide mirrors the change in the battles. The Colonials are fighting just long enough to let the civvies get away- then when Pegasus arrives, they start kicking Cylon butt all over the place.

This series is the god of scifi. It has it all. Epic story, interesting mutidimensional characters andgreat music. I have never been quite as addcted to a tv series as with this one.

The visual effects got much better as the show went on. I find that amazing that a tv series has better special effects than most movies do. Gary Hutzel and his team are awesome! They gave Deep Space Nine the greatest visuals in all Star Trek TV. And now they've outmatched cinema.

Ok I always knew that OST from Bear is awesome and powerfull, but just now, listening to this music selection I realized how essential it is for the show. Watching this images and videos with music from another movies doesnt give me goos bumps and doesnt leave me in tears like the music from the show. Irreplaceable.

I think so. :-) The show opened with a two-parter miniseries back in 2003, each of them is one and a half hour long. Both the miniseries and the seasons are available on DVD.

Quite well done. Shows what CGI Animation has done to upgrade the Battlestar Galactica franchise special effects, since Loren Greene starred as the fleet commander - which is probably when I last watched it! Nice job.

@pixelcoremusic The name of the song at 4:20 is called "Gortoz a ran - J'attends" (means "I wait"). The composer is Breton and the singer is Denez Prigent who performs it with Lisa Gerrard.

The theme is a Hindu chant, very ethereal & haunting. Mourning for a lost world, that kind of thing Then an abrupt move into an urgent action pace with Taiko ( ? ) drums. at about 2:40 it sounds like a snippet of the B5 score. Very well done !!

Thank you, and agreed: the series has really good CGI - but fortunately it is not just the FX which is top-notch. As for the problematic part, you are right. That's the only section where we had to adapt to the music, instead of the other way round. :-)

btw,i cannot listen to the score and my heart not wrench. it's one of the things that was such a nucleus for the show and the show's mood. you just can't hear those pieces and not think of the stories and the images. bear did such a great job.

The pilot showed that the Galactica only survived b/c she was the oldest in the fleet -- basically a museum piece with lots of analog instruments & comms & stuff. You know, stuff provided by the low bidders that, as a bonus, the crew and Marine-types were less likely to break. When the Cylons knocked down the defenses of every other BS with a virus or EMP or whatever, Galactica was immune and thus able to carry on. Not saying this accounts for the presence of anachronistic gear in other places.

Not all the Colonies planets were of equal status, economically or socially. In the orig. series, at least, I recall that a couple of them were mentioned as being mere frontier places, useful mostly for mining or whatnot. Or maybe that was in Larson's book. Cassiopeia hailed from the equivalent of Cleveland, but made it big on the main worlds working as a social aider.

well there's a film called the plan which comes out in the autumn that's based on before the cylons attacked the 12 colonies and from the perspective of two cylon agents. edward james is directing and jane espenson(of buffy fame)wrote it,so it should be rather good. i guess it's going to be the last and final film instalment based on the idea and series.

It was much easier to have a suspense of belief when guns, clothing, and everything looked like with what I know to actually exist.

I think the original was somewhat unrealistic because after the Colonies were attacked, except for the pilot & a few other examples, they showed the exiled Colonials living almost like they had before the destruction, going to resort ships, dances & concerts on said ships, etc. It HAS been a while since I've seen re - runs of original BSG, yes. " Adama was laid up for half a movie once " ( Fire in Space ), Bill Adama was shot in the heart in one ep, & in critical condition.

@GrizzlerBorno That's right, but exploding ships throw a mass amount of oxigen to space from their combustion tanks: as long as there's oxygen there will be fire (for a very brief timespan, which you can see in most explosions fromf the video).
