The world could learn alot from Spike Lee. His pure artistic spirit shines thru in how he talks about how he expects the viewer of his work to experience it in their own way because we all have unique lives. I wonder how this view has contributed to his body of work and gave him the freedom to do what he wanted to without worrying about how one might interpret it. So grateful for him and those who impacted him.

i ReMember those daze when Clark was a college & a test that drew the few from many allowing B in classes with Spike. gave him rides in my blue Mustang to his aunts house in ATL & had conversations that still resonate! Beauteous to see him use this platform to share the knowledge & make the Ancestors simile 🥰 he had outlines from "She's Gotta Have It" to "Malcom X" yo Spike back in 1977 ~ the path still unfolds & God's plan is bigger than we can figure ~ Many Blessings 😎💜

Mr. Lee taught me about Malcolm X, taught much of my generation about brother X. A beginning to mental evolution.

It's so fly and apropos that both Spike Lee and Sean Carter aka Jay-Z have beautiful curated exhibits of their life and love in Brooklyn both the Brooklyn Museum and the Brooklyn Public Library ... I think that it's an ode to the Renaissance period of Harlem and 50th plus anniversary of Hip Hop so so befitting congratulations Spike Lee💪🏾 I don't think there's one film that he has put together directly or indirectly that I have ever not treasured. My favorite though out of all of them is Drop Squad... Though you did not directed it you were a producer it and to me epitomises all of your work Where You Are enveloping minds of heavily melanated skin-toned people to know who they are, to love who they are and to be active in their purposes of who they are and your production of drop Squad Tammy solidifies all your transcending divine films

Speaking of cuts , did Spike talk about cutting thirty minutes out of his film after it was finished ? Zero credibility for someone who sacrificed his art at the altar of the almighty dollar. You can’t take it with you Spike but you can leave an example of how you did what the man told you to do.
