Plot twist: Julian Alvarez is actually an attacking midfielder and not a CF cos he has thrived better playing behind a striker. I think he has good vision and likes being involved in the play but as a striker he’s pretty much isolated upfront. Ps: the two Newcastle games this season are good examples.

He has very rarely played as a solo striker for City, and when he has, he has scored. For River Plate and Argentina he was almost always a solo striker. That's his main position. He's not a 18yd box poacher so he's not gonna get ridiculous numbers because that's not what he brings to the game, but he still scores. Alvarez is very versatile, he can play anywhere in the forward line, but his main position has always been 9
