Cavendish dropped Girmay and Philipsen just about legally got in the gap into Cav’s draft. He was in the same gearing as Can but then Cav had a slight mechanical disruption and that was it as Philipsen had a cleaner flow across the line. The finest of margins

Thinks Philipsen needs a DQ to get him on the right track again. He's becoming too wreckless. Seems to like guiding others in to the barriers. He's relying on others to pull up to prevent crashes. Maybe the Tour organisers can have a quick word in his ear to say he's really starting to take the P1ss and needs to stick to his lines.

I have written a mail to UCI, stating my concern for how sprinting is evolving on the biggest stage in the world. I hope as many as possible will do the same so we the fans can make a change for the safety of the riders. Maybe they wont listen to the teams but they will have to listen to the fans, the foundation of cycling, if enough do the same!

Come on? Big fan of " the Tashkent Terror" . Abdu was dangerous. Jasper hasn't crossed that line. Fabio initiated the contact on the race track, was Jasper supposed to give up MVDPs wheel? Sprinters look down ( me included), Jasper follows dotted line against WVA, that's why Wout didn't complain. Jasper had his entire bike in front of Bini, not just handlebars, Cav's wheel was his!

Of course, many think that Phillipsen crosses Girmay. But Jasper was always ahead. In this case, the Eritrean always had his front wheel behind the Belgian and must decide whether to risk more, crash, slow down or change the line. All this controversy is more the fault of the judges than of the cyclists. They do what they are allowed to do. The judges do not go out to give technical explanations. They come at 70 km/ph with 200 beats. In F1, that's what telemetry is for. The bikes have a GPS transponder, it is not impossible to map the track lines. But the UCI worries about the height of the socks and the position on the bike when descending... When it is in the sprint stages where there are more accidents. They also come along a very wide road and reduce it near the finish line with fences so that the fan is closer and the cyclist is in a more risky area
