It’s a multitude of reasons why it happens, but the Quran you can clearly see parts where it talks about killing apostates and non believers ( if they won’t pay the tax ). Most everything I see in the media and internet etc suggests western Muslims are angry at a perceived prejudice of non Muslims but no similar narrative or public effort seems to be placed on expressing anger towards the radical extremists who claim Islam to justify their terrorism. Unfortunately some will seize on this as a tacit approval of terrorism and use it to fuel fear, anger, hate and prejudice. The anger on both sides is divisive and leads to further resentment that only serves to exasperate the situation IMHO. Frequently this anger can be exploited by interest groups, often for political purposes, even seeking to capitalize on any resulting collateral damage. I do give these people some credit. They obviously have never read the Koran and I've traveled and worked in a dozen or so Muslim countries and many more Muslim regions. Most Muslims I've encounter were kind and without exception those were the Muslims who knew the least about Islam and Muhammad. That is the way Jews became so secular and non violent, they simply started ignoring the talmood.
