Indycar! May be not as technical as F1 - but just as much fun!
@321gates6 ай бұрын
Technical = cookie cutter racing. As we've watched the cars get better/more advanced/more manufacturer driven in all forms of mororsports, we've also watched fan support drop. Much of the reason for drivers in most other forms of racing not seeming to be as "technical" as F1 drivers is because the F1 cars are so driveable in comparison. You basically just have to hit your marks. Easier said then done, but the fans want to see parity in racing. Different driving styles, setups, etc. That is why many F1 fans are gravitating toward other, less "techical" forms of racing like Indy or IMSA.
@billyyank58076 ай бұрын
F1 is boring asf. You cough on those cars and they'll stop running. Way over engineered.
@petebeatminister6 ай бұрын
@@321gates Yes, F1 has become a joke of itself. They claim to be the pinnacle of racing technology - but if someone comes up with something new that makes the car faster, its banned straight away. All this bitching is sure not what most fans want from racing. Cars dont have to be complicated to make them good race cars. One of the most exciting racing for me was the BTCC before 2000. They had pretty basic cars, like 3 series BMWs, Fords, Alfa, Renaults ect, all modified to be quite equal in performance. The real racing factor was the drivers, who did amazing battles on the tracks. Never been shy to exchange some paint with others... :)
@dannysrigid6 ай бұрын
@@321gates F1 is too fragile and too big to race on historic tracks like Laguna Seca, and too limited and protected from anyone wishing to compete with them. It's not a racing sanction and hasn't been for a long time. Currently it's club racing for the elite and wealthiest. The funny thing though, most of the new DTS fans complain the most about is "IF they ran the same cars, so and so would beat the other guy"... the obvious answer is "watch Indycar instead". F1 cars are too big for LS, but Indycar runs twice as many cars on that little track that F1 can't fit. F1 doesn't allow competition from outside their little bubble, Indycar welcomes anyone that can qualify for the race. But ONE thing F1 has in spades is, they don't allow their broadcast partners to bump their races in favor of ANYTHING ELSE! I've never seen an F1 race bumped and eliminated from broadcast. Once or twice I've seen the show delayed, but always broadcast in it's entirety, from start to the end of the podium ceremony.
