Great tips, I have started ordering all my pieces in white and then toning them to match my hair since it is an ever changing lightening process. Synthetic hair takes toner very well and you can actually remove and lighten the piece since toner is not permanent.

I'm excited as I just purchased a blonde real Remy 1 yard weft. I'm in the UK and couldn't find a grey weft, so I washed the blonde in blue shampoo, then toned it with conditioner and some neon blue non permanent dye to get a pale grey, it looks beautiful! Can't wait to make into extensions or a halo type single extension, although my own grey hair is not quite long enough yet! Love your tips!!
@twominutetips10 жыл бұрын
Susan Mochrie Many thanks Susan. Bravo that you've found a way to get what you needed. I had a halo extension once and I found that the weight of the hair and the fineness of the thread/wire cut into my scalp so I've used clips-ins ever since. And I only use 3 - back and sides so it works for my needs. Would love to hear how your halo turns out. Thanks again.

This is a great video on extensions. I've seen several of your videos, but I haven't seen one in which you mention toppers. So I thought I would mention how nice they are and easy they are to wear. I have very thin hair and have to wear a topper. They do make them for gray hair and I think this would be a great option for ladies who have alopecia, extremely thin hair, and also for ladies who are growing out their natural gray and still have some dye on the ends. They are very comfortable and they aren't hot and scratchy like wigs. Thank you for all your great videos! I'm learning so much and my make is looking much better!

TY Susan and yes, I totally agree that toppers are fabulous for oh so many practical and fun reasons. So glad the videos are helpful.

Hi Susan. Do you know of anyone who sells grey and/or salt & pepper and/or silver toppers please? I've been looking but so far haven't found any. Thank you :)
@susanc.37718 жыл бұрын
Wig Pro Top Blend makes gray and salt and pepper toppers. You can get them from Vouge WIgs on the Internet. They may have more brands if you search the site. One thing about these synthetic toppers is that they're aren't heat resistant, so you really need to take them off when you use the oven.

Thanks Hunnie B Did you know that even with a pixie cut little extensions can also be added for volume - if you need it? Just sharing. ;)
@Hunnie_B10 жыл бұрын
twominutetips Really.......even with a pixie ! I have never used extensions, but yes, at times I would love a little volume because I don't have thick hair. Funny how when I was young ( I'm 59 ) I had long straight hair in the 60's and 70's, and never thought of volume, now it's a whole different story lol. Might take a look into short extensions, thanks Sharon.

Been looking for someone doing this for a long, long time and finally found you. I'm into fashion, makeup, and hairstyles. I know people give up but for me it's been opposite. When I was younger I had so many responsibilities that I didn't have 2 minutes or 2 cents to bother with myself. Now I finally have time to indulge in all my beauty and fashion interests. And I have alot of questions for you please. How about Diane Keaton? The best grey ever! What are her hairdresser's secrets? The grey I have now is not a pretty grey like yours. It's a long story but the color has to be fixed once. I'm going to bleach it out just once, and go white. That's why I'm here tonight, to make sure I get it right. A good video idea? After white, I can grey it to match the new growth. Another good video idea? I have some grey and learned what to do from all the girls going grey. Thank god for that trend. But people aren't covering grey to grey, etc. Or are you into never dye your hair? I've been living in scarfs as a wide headband. It helps with fullness as one can push all the hair to the back, and gives the viewer some visual relief from my awful hair color. a good video idea? I love your hair extension and buns. A lot of your links for in hair don't work any more but I went to Amazon, found the hair extension and fake bangs that got good reviews and just bought them. They are cheap so what if it turns out to not work. Like I said, this is the time of my life to have fun with appearance. I'd like to take one hair extension and make a braid to try your styles. Can you go over how to do that? Maybe it's simple but they make the best videos. Also, can you go over how to make the bun thing again? You just said it like we would get it. Sorry, but I don't get it? Plus I don't have much hair there, it's almost a bald spot, so I wonder if bobby pins will work? I'd like to find something. By the way, an old age thing one can say. "You may be (richer, smarter, prettier) but I'm morally superior." LoL

How do you make a bump-it out of the hair in your brush? How do you add volume to the top of your head so scalp doesn’t show? How do you put your hair up with volume for playing active sports and not have the bumps or extensions fall out? Thanks, I wish you also worked with red hair people. I’d love to find someone like you that helps re heads. I’d love to find a way to help me transition from my colored red hair to my what-I-assume-will-be white hair without a stark change when I stop coloring my hair. I’m new to all this so I’m learning a lot from you.

Pat Hughes - please check out my "Hairstyling Playlist" AND my "Extensions Playlist" for answers to all your questions. It doesn't matter what colour your hair is, just let it grow in. And yes, if you've been colouring your hair there will be a demarcation line, but please remember this hair STYLE is far more important than hair COLOUR. You mentioned how much synthetic wigs have improved. My 10 year old grandson had been playing with my hair, just running his fingers thru it, and wanted to look closer at a very cheap wig I had bought off Amazon. He got a hold of the wig and couldn't believe how it felt just like my own hair. My younger grandsons actually were afraid of the wig, I finally was able to understand them enough to realize they basically thought I had scalped someone. Funny now. It wasnt then

Sharon I just discovered your videos and have to tell I was binge watching..couldn't get enough of your tips..I did have a question on facial hair. I have so much peach fuzz. I'm 66 and have been tempted to take it off but am so afraid to because I'm afraid to end up with a 5 o'clock shadow as I have seen so many women who have decided to just shave... I let someone wax it once and that was a disaster with red itchy bumps for weeks. Any recommendations?
@twominutetips8 жыл бұрын
Shaving is best or lazer removal, but check with a dermatologist with that and see what they say. And thank you Alma - glad you are enjoying.

I’ve used an epilator with the ‘face’ attachment for years, it’s brilliant, very painful the first time but as the hair weakens with continued removal it ends up being pain free. I do the same with legs and underarms, bikini etc. In fact my underarm hair has virtually stopped growing and there’s no shadow or stubble. I’ve never known why everyone doesn’t do it. Ingrown hairs can be a problem on the legs and bikini line for the first few weeks but persevere and it will stop. None of the mess of waxing but with the same result.

I am having a hard time finding gray extensions. I tried the links you have listed on here and they won't work anymore. Can you tell me where I can purchase them? Uniwigs doesn't carry the gray. Are your extensions, synthetic or human hair ? Thanks for any help you can give.
@twominutetips7 жыл бұрын
maryblueyes41 I hear you loud and clear. They are soooooo hard to find. Two suggestions, get blonde or the lightest human hair you can and take it to a salon to be died to colour match your gray. Two, purchase the "Taylor" wig in Silver Stone at Godiva Secret Wigs and take it apart to make your extensions. Hope that helps.

Thanks for answering so quickly...I am doing a search to find more options...The Taylor wig is priced beyond my means, so will continue the search elsewhere.
