Triumph Spitfire’s were as common as muck in the UK when I was a kid. Pretty rare these days as most of them will have rusted to dust. Always preferred the Triumph Stag to the Spitfire.

Triumph Spitfire, that takes me back. In my lifetime so far enjoying cars i have owned a 2.8 Capri, 1600e Cortina and a P6 Rover to name a few, Great cars, terrible rust.

In my opinion the car turned out great. The paint needs to be stripped off and repainted to achieve show car status. I use the same glaze for odds and ends and it works great. I really like the sealant and hope to see how well it holds up. AM details makes amazing products that just work. Thank you for the video.

It's too bad the finish on the car was allowed to get that bad. Oh well. On any glaze, do you need to allow the glaze to cure before applying protection? You know the 24 hour thing. Nice face lift folks. Hi wife!

I know right. Still looks cool though. No need to let the glaze cure before applying protection. It was formulated to just gloss up and prep the paint and even chrome parts like what we did on the 29 Ford Hot Rod.

Yes you can treat single stage just like clear coat.

Hey Dave, Found your channel recently. I like what you're about. Would you be willing to do a mini-series on some of your go-to polishes and compounds in different situations? I'm not saying make a "best of" list as that's not your style. What I would be interested to see is, Hey dealing with Soft Paint, here is what I tend to reach for. Hey dealing with Medium paint, here is what I tend to reach for. Single stage...etc I would hope and expect you to give us a variety of different products in each category. I know you youtube for detailers specifically, but a lot of us home enthusiasts who aren't going through bottles of compound and polish a year could benefit from something like that. Example: I have a 2020 Ram. Based on your videos I know I most likely have softer paint. What are some options of go-tos you think to grab on softer paints based on paint condition. I know it would help me, I could pick up say 2 or 3 compounds and 2 or 3 polishes and be confident I had something that would fit most situations I would encounter on my vehicle. I think it would help us build an arsenal without waiting for what you have to run out and trying something different, as that's just not reality for a lot of us. Thanks for your consideration.

HAWT DAMN! I have to say, seeing older cars with all that petina has a nice charm to it. I'm usually OCD AF, but there's something about classic cars that makes me love the petina on it. Makes me tight in the pants! And very true about forums and using ANY chemicals to enhance your paint and gloss. I just stick to what dad taught me about single stage paint cars and working with clearcoats in general. Forums are just there to figure out what people did wrong to cast shade on products or chemicals.

Another great video guys! I love working with old classics. I got my start 20+ years ago cleaning up my first vehicle, a ‘70 Chevy pickup for car shows. Heres my latest video, Its my ‘60 Impala. The paint was too far gone for any polishing, however I used some Penetrol to bring it back and keep the “patina” finish.
