Seems you lot enjoyed the last video showcasing what a Voith Enviro 400 MMC can do when driven in a certain style! This time round I've decided to record what it's like from the back where you can take in a little bit more of what these buses sound like.
The Voith Gearbox is evidently louder outside on the rear, with it's distinct, low pitch whining on idle/tickover and screaming once it's revving all the way up... just like any DIWA.6. You will also hear that Cummins engine quite clearly, raw sound especially in the higher RPMs during "Kickdown". Alongside that I have to admit these retarders on the newer Voith gearboxes sound amazing past all the bodywork dampening the sound! Other points in the video where the vehicle is left to decelerate without the use of the brake will allow you to hear the axles quite nicely as well...
And to add to that, we all know that the exhaust used on ADL's Hybrid & Euro 6 Diesels between 2014 & 2015 were pretty loud on full boost. Well... yeah it's pretty much the same here as you'll notice. That loud "whoosh" sound isn't wind noise, it's actually from the exhaust! So despite the changes they'd made from 2015 onwards I presume once these newer ADL Euro 6s 'actually" use all of their power accelerating just like e.g. my video on Arriva's T313, you can still hear that jet-like whoosh quite clearly!
