It depends on. My mate did one, and the owner did not let them open the outer wall so they went from the inside out lol. But even if that happens you can fix it relatively easy. You just need to remember the colour scale and the adhesive types.

@@luckystrike656 with EPS foam it's very important to calculate the dew point inside of the wall, if the dew point is in the insulation then humidity is not going to be a problem, because everything will condense outside. There are millions of homes insulated this way and it rarely ever fails. Most fails are from renovation with improper calculations being done or no calculations at all.

Good video. Is it necessary to drill those holes and insert those plastic anchors in? The reason I ask is because I recently had this EPS Insulation done on my front house over pebble dash. It was free of charge done via government scheme eco target. Once the black eps boards was installed, the builders sanded it down and then put base coat on followed by silicone render. I am worried now that something may have been missed that could cause problems later.

It won't be mouldy because the paint contains additives which prevents the mold to grow on it. Also if the roof is well made, no water running on the wall and if there is no splash from the ground, which brings dirt on the surface, you are fine. On the top of that, the paint is silica based, so it is waterrepellent. You can wash it if it gets dirty.

Shouldn’t the foam board be installed with modified cement using a fiberglass back detail mesh to wrap around to the front for extra strength? And the adhesive motor be vertically troweled with a notched unit to provide a path for water to run out at ground termination? Either poor widows or bad instruction without ice & water shield be placed in the opening prior to the window installation with a proper drip cap on top, this will seal from further rain, moisture that forms where the temperature changes with high humidity on days were extreme temperature difference form dew on grass. Your shoes are wet after walking across the lawn for the AM newspaper or mail. This condensate form behind the styrofoam boards, causing water droplets to drip out then air to circulate behind to dry out on a vapor barrier orc ice & water shield, then drip out the bottom of the finish? Correct? If a non-permeable seal wrap or coating is not applied to wood sheaving, it will cause rot and damage to structure in a short time. In the U. S., EFIS systems where looked down upon as these steps were not taken on wood structures, as mold, mushrooms, and wood rot occurred as Tar paper or asphalt felt was the only barrier used. The poor installation or windows or doors using cheaper products failed quickly, writhing 3 years of new construction occurred! It was devastating to the EIFS industry. Just my two cents worth! DK. it is used for external wall insulation on old houses that were built from brick with no cavity which are over 100 years old. You can not insulate an old house with no cavity, therefore you would externally insulate, then render and apply the desires decoration or colour of choice. A few companies carve or brick designs on the render now to make it look like it was without the insulations added.

@@luckystrike656 cold spots in the floor and ceiling lol , so external insulation stops floors from being cold and heat travelling up trough the ceiling lol, If cavity walls it's actually useless as by the time the heat penetrated the walls and makes it out to the insulation to bounce back in it would have evaporated in to the air because cavity walls are ventilated hence doing there job, never mind all the damp issues and eaves, sills and door problems, let's see how many complaints come in say 15 to 20 years with external insulation. If you stop and think how much heat is it going to take to heat the internal walls penetrate the walls and trough the cavity bounce back in to heat the house and how long if warm boarded,. Works like a jacket a sales man qoute 😅🤣😂
