It's amazing to me, as an American, seeing these wide sidewalks that are used by so many glad pedestrians to get from place to place. We don't get to enjoy this in my part of the United States. The large paths with softer asphalt are sent between nowhere and nowhere and called "jogging trails". Sidewalks between city locations are narrow paths of pebbles in concrete, usually cracked and uneven. They are an afterthought to the streets. It's good that Stop Xam is there to make such enviable and beloved walkways free of trouble for pedestrians.

Hello. We just love to walk, go shopping or just walk, there is a lot of public transport, so people live comfortably without a car, using the sidewalks. I heard that you need a car, large supermarkets, that’s why you have the same with sidewalks, we have a lot of small shops on every corner and you can walk 100 meters and buy almost everything)

I may be wrong (I don't live in Russia); but from my understanding, they have such wider sidewalks because when winter comes the snow piles on and there needs to be room for snow plows to come through and clear the area. Also allowing enough room for the snow to be moved into piles on the side with enough space still left to walk. You just don't see that part of it usually since these videos aren't always recorded in winter. To make things worse, I have seen videos of cars still driving on the sidewalk in winter, taking up 100% of the cleared walking area on the sidewalk, forcing pedestrians to walk in the snow... Love that SADB are cracking down on these clowns.

SADB has gained some good reputation among the police I guess. There may be more or less helpful cops but I don't think anyone is buying the "they asked for money" shit.
