Thanks for mention of the increase in numbers for the Gold Coast marathon, they didn’t send me an email, might have to follow up, I did sign up for the half.

I believe emails go out today (29th) and entry needs to be completed and paid before 31st. Could be wrong, but thats what a mate of mine (who is on the waitlist) told me

No worries, mate. I thought they had emailed those 3300 runners to let them know. They did say if you entered the half and a spot opened up in the full and you were on the waitlist you could upgrade. Hope you get a spot.

You called it Woody! These GCM course changes announced today is huge news indeed. I'm not sure they've totally got it right - for example, probably worth just staying on the Gold Coast Highway from Clifford all the way down to Seashell Ave - but it's going to be an awesome day!

It had to happen mate, too many runners for that stretch along Hedges Ave, especially with runners coming back from the turnaround. I talk a little about it in my latest video out today (4pm, Brisvegas time).

@@runwithwoody 100%. I'd imagine once the marathon REALLY gets big (15-20k), they'll have no choice but to keep everyone on the GCH all the way down to Burleigh. The other thing with this new course that could mess with people's heads is the northern turning point in Runaway Bay - looks like it is now an extra 4-500m up the road. Could be tough when you're really in the hurt locker and thinking the turn should be earlier than it is!

Another great video mate. Chilling with my Sunday morning coffee wishing I was running round Oz too 😂 Great work 👍

Cheers Lee. Yes we are spoilt. Although this summer here in Brisbane has been crazy hot 🔥 and humid. 🥵

Curiously do you still follow MAF?
@runwithwoody9 ай бұрын
Not so much these days. It gets extremely frustrating in summer to keep HR under control. I tend to use the MAF when coming back after a break, it keeps you accountable to those easy runs.
