Even though directional hitting might seem easier, that restricts and limits hitting. Zone hitting gives you precise control over the position of the bat in relation to the ball. So, using that makes sense, but if you want to be anything better than not awful, zone is the only hitting mechanic to practice using.

The reason Michael Jordan's suggested position is second base is because 2nd base is the easiest position to get a high rating in. I think the best thing to do is to put him at catcher because catcher is a difficult position to get a good player in

Some helpful hints are to put your created player at catcher because there aren't that great of catchers in the games also start your psi batting circle low and then move it up when you have it low you will hit more home runs. And a couple player recommendations are JD Martinez Ian Kinsler and Chris Davis
