nice piece of gear! FYI your not using the double rings on the strap properly. look at a bike helmet or a belt with two rings and do that. much stronger that way... the Velcro is just to restrain the inevitable creep that always happens. getting my SurRon in 2 weeks or so :)

We include a special voltage meter with the kit to track charge state. If you enjoy percentage measurement, you can use special voltage-percentage translation table

Thank you! Stock battery management system is limited by 80 amps. Anything above that can be taken from the battery with discharge bypass mod that we don’t recommend doing

@@johnandjuli you can use this battery with bypassed stock battery but I am 100% against bypass battery modification. We do not recommend doing bypass because breaking into bms system is no good even if the charge process isn’t affected. Instead, I would change stock bms to a programmable one but this is a more expensive and difficult mod

@@SurRonshop thank you for your response Dan, I do respect your opinion but I'm wondering why you are not happy with the protection in a good controller like the ASI after the BMS is bypassed. We've been running that way for a year now. I have my ASI limited to pull 110 amps max from the battery.

@@johnandjuli when you uncontrollably discharge your battery one element can get lower/higher charge than others and not be balanced back. Over time you may start having problems that this element gets overcharged or overdischarged resulting in potential battery condition issues. Unfortunately controller protection isn’t enough for complete safety, we highly recommend to change bms instead of bypassing it

Two questions, first where do you get the programmable dash as of course its needed and second once all hooked in together can you charge it all at an EV station (from the default battery) or do you need to reconnect everything and carry all the charger every single time you want to charge??

You have to charge batteries connected in parallel each time. In case you charged only one battery you will have to fully charge both stock battery and battery extender separately using the charger from the kit to equal the voltage again

I have a Surron coming...but before it gets here I will be building a 60 volt 30 ah pack in a nice case mounted below the rear fender to which there is plenty of room..make my own wiring harness to connect them in parallel...heres the problem with what I see...first the wire connecting both is not of sufficient gauge and you should be matching the capacity of both, especially if you deeply discharge both packs as the Surron pack is 30 Ah and this one is only 20 ah..so when the lower Ah pack begins to falter then the 30 ah pack will start charging the lower one resulting in the bigger pack being stressed...not a good situation..if you didnt take the 20 ah pack to near critical levels then it wouldnt mean as much, but that isnt reality.

There is a big risk to hit the battery with rear wheel, be careful when mounting a battery underneath the seat

@@KNKLHEAD Crap, I never considered this..but then again, I am about average height for an Asian, so its suits me good...I have already made the extender and battery and it works great..will be posting a youtube video...just increased my range by 30 kms and once the BAC 4000 gets configured, the 2 batteries in conjunction, will be a piece of cake handling 145 amps.

Yes, we do ship to UK! The charger that is included in the kit package is only needed to charge the add-on battery to the similar to stock battery voltage. After that you can charge 21Ah battery with a stock charger together with stock battery in parallel. This is the correct way you should organize charge process and you will not need to use the included charger if you don’t use one of the batteries separately.
