Well done man, I'm sure that took quite a bit of cursing. I've really been tempted to see if there's anything to gain on my old golden sample 1080 FE... It already puts out some surprisingly solid numbers just with water and a ~300W bios. I assume it wouldn't end up being worth the effort but it's really a shame to see such a killer chip nerfed by this card.

I have the EVGA GTX 1080 FTW ACX 3.0 and that cooler can handle the card running at around 300W without throttling.

About the 8x2 ddr5 modules you can find it in kingston fury editions with rgb and anything cl30 6000mhz is guaranteed a die from hynix its weird but it clocks higher than m die 24gb modules Edit: got it to 8800mhz cl44 stable on the 8700G 2:1 at 1.55v

It's very high frequency stuff; those little caps might be a huge deal for that.

A bridged VRM with 200-300 amps makes a big boom.

Which is better? I should have asked you in your stream yesterday, I know, I know... I have ordered the Ripjaws but the website lists it as 3,000MHz (I only noticed this on the order confirmation email) and I understand that it's still 6,000 M/T but the Trident is listed as 6,000MHz and I'm just confused now. There's not even a great selection to choose from here. F5-6000J3636F16GX2-TZ5RK or F5-6000J3040F16GX2-RM5RK

Yeah, would love to know what the deal is with Vega. With the intel oxidation talk... I wonder about that. I have 1 Vega 56 that is almost fine with power limit set to %50 and fans set to max. V sync always on so it usually doesn't even hit that limit. And it still occasionally crashes for no apparent reason.

Different sizes attenuate different frequencies, so I don't think your efforts were at all in vain.

I'm aware. But I've not seen much benefit to 0402s in the past.

Can’t we do stuff like that on more modern parts or does the modern parts better now. Would you mod a gpu for money ? Or could you make a tutorial or did I missed something out from the channel ? Very interesting work keep up the good

I can't mod things I don't have access. Also generally if you just get an ASUS Strix card there's not really much room for improvement on them.

Anyone know why there isnt any AMD 9k content from Buildzoid? Just curious what his opinion is about the 9k serie, besides what every reviewer already mentioned.

6:40 evga and any manufacturer has to worry about their design being mass produced while some guy from KZbin doesn't. That's the same reason why building a one off supercar is way easier than building a mass produced shitbox.
