3D Slicer (www.slicer.org/) is an open source software for medical image analysis and visualisation. In this video we demonstrate how to prepare segments as 3D radiomics objects. We also show how to extract segment features. We used the open source Cancer Imaging Archive (TCIA) dataset available at wiki.cancerimagingarchive.net....

The segmentation performed in 3D Slicer allows each segment (possibly of a malignant tissue) to be stored in a separate file, making feature extraction much faster and easier. This is a step towards the further development of quantitative radiomics.
