I've seen David with TOP in 1972 in San Antonio, Texas backing up CCR. And 3 more times after that over 50 years. Love Garibaldi Rock on!! TOP needs to be in the R&R Hall.

Good for you DG. I toured on the bus for 50 years, and there is a day that you must get off of it. Don't get me wrong - when you're touring the bus is the only way to make it door to door, night after night. I'm glad you realized that it was your time, and I wish you the best moving on.

that's actually shocking and sad, since there were four drummers for me in one row : Clyde, Jabo, Dennis Chambers and David Garibaldi. Nobody grooved like David, I saw maybe 40+ ToP shows and as a drummer and drum fan I came due to the band but mostly because of David. Adding that he has written drum teching books nearly every renowned drum school teaches you can't express in words how big his contribution to drumming is. I will miss David on the drumming chair really so much. And it sounds not seeing him again in Europe as well, but I don't give up hope - maybe a clinic after some time, as the one I was lucky to get to in Berlin.. all the best to him and thanx 4 all you've done in case you read this. ain't nothing but a party ;)

Thank you, Mr. Moore, for interviewing DG about his departure from TOP. I was most fortunate to see Tower of Power in Oakland on December 15, 2023. Following DG's announcement in January 2024, it became his last time onstage with TOP in the band's hometown. I'm so thankful that I saw the show in person, not knowing in the moment that it would be the last time I'd see him with TOP, and his second-to-last gig with the band. I look forward to hearing about his newest pursuits, post-TOP.

I took a break from trying to get 'on the serious side' down. All those Swedish triplets and stuff. Good god. 😅 and to think of how young he was when he came up with this stuff. I have so many questions about the process (with the band). Love you, Dave!
