We had record snow last year so that helped. Required a tremendous amount of snow blowing and shoveling for weeks. Hard part was packing/shaping and watering it down to form a straight smooth ride. Already started this years which will have a longer sweep for the end bank. Should keep the speed up.

I remember when I use to vacation at one of my relatives’ house and they had a (I’m guessing) 300 foot icy driveway that is on a steep hill, and they piled up the snow in a massive ramp at the end, and I would ride a sled down and sometimes almost got carried all the way to the busy road. Dangerous sledding.

Did u just water the packed snow. No plastic ?
@markhavingfun7 жыл бұрын
Correct no plastic 100% snow. Packed and shaped the snow but before watering would do test runs to make sure the angles were right. Actually very difficult to get the correct entry angle into the large bank. Once you have everything riding good them you apply water which depending on the snow type/densisty can require allot the first couple times. Once your base coat freezes smooth out and apply small amounts several times allowing it to freeze between each coat. Do it enough and it will be strong enough to walk on and will be super fast. Recommend the plastic saucers for this type of run but be prepared as they don't last very long. Temps below 16F. make the plastic brittle and cracks easy. Found that high quality duct tape apply before use in the right areas extended the sleds life from one night to sometimes weeks. I purchased the sleds in bulk online which saved allot. Hope this helps. Have fun!
