The 140 hp outboard is geared and propped to go faster (top end) than the 320 hp inboard, the inboard engines are geared for torque, not speed. Even a novice skier knows that, give them a break the tricks they're pulling are awesome any way you look at it.

barefooting speed formula: take your weight and devide by 10 then add 20 eg. 170 lbs/10 = 17 add 20 (17+20) = 37 mph give or take a couple of mph depending on feet size. add 5 mph to go on 1 foot (42 mph)

notice that the ropes goes up. So there is a high boat theres pulls them. So this is very easy actually. It would be impossible if the rope was straight from a boat. :)

i'd just like to point out that i never said they were bad, yeah it is really cool, but i was just saying that it's probably a fair bit easier to learn than it looks. Also my uncle has a 320ish hp malibu, it has a slightly faster top speed than our 140, but that's true, not significantly faster
