Thats nothing. They have competitions. Flipping water bottles up & catching them, in bucket, plastic spoons, driving a toothpick in ground w blade w/o snapping it. Its done w excavators, loaders. Seen a guy thread a needle w excavator. Stuff you wouldn't believe. Mad skills.

I gotta say, even with how impressive the truck drivers were, the Bobcat driver in the beginning was equally impressive. The long hours that person took to learn to drive that thing with such precession (Moving and picking up the barrel) amazes me.

Drivers passing at the start of the video would of seen a group off guys standing around chatting next to the paver. Probably assuming the exact thing you are mentioning.

The guy on the Bobcat flipping the barrel was impressive. The rest of the tarmac laying was standard operation at least here in the UK as was the truck lift dropping sugar beet.

I have 3 guys on my worksite whos job is literally to stand there and watch me dig up the road in a big excavator. I have a rear view camera but because of regulations i still have to have a person stand behind my digger at all times spotting for me.

I’m not 100% sure but I’d guess it’s to prevent the asphalt from getting stuck or backed up so it continues to move. That’s my guess and I’m sure someone will correct it soon! Lol

@@GeorgeThessaloniki that's usually done by tanker w spray arm. The barrel keeps asphalt from getting packed at bottom preventing the gate from opening.

At first, I thought it was an animation, because of the color and texture of the video but as I was observing the motion of the people working around, I finally concluded it was real life which movement can't be replicated on accurately by a graphics illustrator.
