I always love how you break down the mental aspects of cleaning, decluttering, and organizing. You are so right that oftentimes we hold onto things because letting go can be so tough! Really enjoyed the story about the coloring drawer, so sweet you want Alex to have some of the same memories.

I just discovered #cleaningtherapy today.. The way you clean and organize really speaks to my soul. I loved how respectful you were about your husband's choices and how you helped him to get organized. We are all wired differently and as you pointed out that fact, you were careful to frame the difference positively. Some KZbinrs are more interested in "cute" and "pretty" office spaces. I needed inspiration leading to a functional office. You delivered in spades! Thank you, thank you, thank you! I have subscribed with alerts. Best KZbin with practical advice.

Sophie suggested your channel. New sub here. This is brilliant, and extremely helpful! My best friend works full time, is in school (second Masters), and will be starting his new job the Monday after he leaves his current job (in 3 weeks). The new job is wfh. He’s a therapist, and his clients will be seeing him in his office over the monitor. 😱 The office is in dire need of decluttering and organizing. He also has ADHD, so this is an enormous challenge. I devised a guideline (like get rid of obvious garbage, move non-office stuff elsewhere, as the first two steps), and your video is a huge help. Thank you!

I use to definitely keep techy stuff. OMG cords, chargers, old phones, you name it. I cleared the office and did not put anything else in the basement. I'll get to the basement one day. I love that you changed strategy to fit your husband's needs. Your second strategy was the one used on me with my organizer, and I appreciated it so much. It became so much easier to donate things as we went through the process.

This video was wonderful and massively helpful. As a person that has hoarding tendencies (a lot of years of working on it), I very much appreciate you touching on the mental aspect of decluttering and reorganizing. In this world of toss, toss, toss, it can easily become overwhelming for people like myself which in turn causes us to put it off indefinitely and neglect our wellbeing.

Paper clutter is my weak area... almost an addiction. I had collected it all into 9 storage totes (16 gallon) and have been going through them. It has been TOUGH. As someone who has always wanted to keep stuff, it was for the following reasons (but not limited to). -- Sentimental value to me -- I want to fix it someday -- It might have sentimental value to someone else -- It has monetary value if given to the right person -- It would be a pain to get rid of due to disposal requirements -- A collector might want it for historical value -- I might need to retain for legal purposes -- It might be good for a DIY or Crafting project someday -- Guilt because it was a gift -- I bought in bulk

Sometimes i know for sure that clutter builds up in my house for this reason: I don't necessarily have an attachment to the items or anything, but the amount of times that i have been told "just toss it, you can ALWAYS just buy another if you need to💁♀️" and then the times came when i needed items that i ignorantly threw away, but now couldn't AFFORD to wastefully buy another when i now NEED it.

This chair was fairly easy to put together, the instructions were clear and I was about to follow along with no issues at all. It took me about 20 minutes to assemble. kzbin.infoUgkx5hPALGI87E991DRmXev8PUFJGrrRcONS I did stuff the back of the chair with a pillow so it wouldn’t be so hollow after taking all the pieces out but that’s just a personal preference. I also added a pillow for lumbar support because although this is a great chair and is comfortable, it’s not necessarily the best if you’re sitting 10+ hrs a day wfh but in all honesty for the price, I didn’t mind at all. It looks great in my space and easily adjusts the height when needed.
