I cycled up this hill in 1964, on a youth-hostelling trip from Pembrokeshire to Cornwall. There was an alternative route; but I was determined to do it, thanks to the foolhardy ambitions of youth, and the several accounts I'd read of this hill in the Cyclists' Touring Club magazine. I did make it, even with a full set of pannier bags on the bike; though I do remember having to get a breather at one point. I'm now 73, and could not get near what I did then. Well done to the bus driver and the professionalism he showed at the sharp left-hander; and he was helped by car drivers showing some awareness. It's a beautiful place.

Flippin heck that was a hill climb and a half 😳😳😳! I'm surprised it didn't overheat half way up the hill. Was the alarm going off in the cab indicating the engine temperature had gone up?
