Very nice, can you also explain we cannot see the pole?

Hello. My weigh is 85kg. Would be such wonderfull jump possible for me on Peter Lynn Twister 7,5 m2 ?
@loloBSD2 жыл бұрын
If you wanna have fun jumping you need a 12m kite minimum and around 15 knots wind. Caution: flights like I’m doing in this video are very dangerous, if you start into land kiting I suggest you to practice on flat spot (on the beach for exemple, or any flat areas on grass).

@@arpadjakab-peter5431 hi, yes it’s a depower kite, but very performant, I would recommend you to start kiteboarding with the FLYSURFER Hybrid or PEAK, size 9.5m for the hybrid, size 8m or 11m for the PEAK 🤙🏽

@tustyklops69503 жыл бұрын
Depends on the wind pretty much that’s it if u get up to 30/40 km/h a size 8 to 10 should be enough if you don’t weight like 120kg

What was the wind like? How is it in places like that? Changeable?
@sandy_knight3 жыл бұрын
The tl;dr is I'd imagine the winds were pretty light in general, maybe 10-15kmh/5-7 knots max, and not too gusty. The longer answer if anyone's interested: On a 'normal' day in the Alps (or virtually any steep sided, inland valley) the valley wind is a 'thermal breeze' that builds as the day gets hotter. It's at its strongest in the mid afternoon. Usually a bit gusty but predictable. I'm not talking about thermals themselves, more the air that rushes up the valley to replace the rising air. They looked to be higher up in the mountains though so the valley wind won't be so noticeable but there was probably a bit of 'meteo wind' as well. He says above he was flying a 15m Soul which is pretty big so I'd imaging the winds were pretty light in general, less than 10-15kmh/5-7 knots I'd guess, and not too gusty. Another thing worth mentioning, the sky looked quite congested with well developed cumulus which *might* cut off the heat for the thermals, reducing the valley breeze, or might be a sign that Cumulonimbus are growing above your head. If that's the case then I wouldn't want to be flying anything that high up the hill in case you get cloud-sucked. The air would be getting horrible/gusty/turbulent as well. If the guys shot this in early Autumn then it's more likely the former scenario. In peak Summer, when there's more heat from the sun, you need to be more wary. In terms of changeability, the weather in the Alps can change quickly but it's *usually* predictable if you check the forecast. Some days you know not to leave the house with a kite, other days you know the conditions will change in a certain way during the day, you just need to keep an eye on it. Truly unpredictable days are rare in my experience. Full disclosure: I lived in Chamoinx for ~17 years, paragliding for 14 of them. One rule of thumb in *that* valley was if the clouds meet up in the middle of the valley before 4pm then it'll rain, probably only for a couple of hours and be blue sky before sunset..

Awesome, thanks. I am very interested. I have a lot to learn. I kite inland in the UK but getting into kitesurfing and hopefully snowkiting in the next few years.

@@Nanocosm Same here, kind of. I got offered a cheap fixed bridle kite many years ago in Chamonix (a new but end-of-line Ozone Samurai 7.2m on handles) and just used it in the landing field in the afternoon when it was too windy in the valley to fly (safely). I've been back in London the last couple of years though and when lockdown started I needed a new excuse to get some exercise so I dusted off the old traction kite. I now have a quiver of 3 fixed bridle kites and an old second hand mountainboard and plans to get a proper de-power land/snowkite later in the year. Happy flying :-)

@@Nanocosm It's a possibility but I do live on the opposite side of London (bad excuse I know). I need to get my insurance sorted first, then I'm applying for a traction kite permit in Richmond Park, which is my nearest official spot. I'll bear it in mind though...

I'm surprised you are willing to risk that. Same with those people that attach themselves to boats and go up over 100ft Kiteboarding equipment isn't redundant like parachute equipment, if ANYTHING happens to any one of your lines, your dropping like a rock. It's not as bad when it's water underneath you, but on land? woo buddy. I'd say this is equally as dangerous as lowering yourself off a 50ft cliff using a single strand of paracord.

It's fake! 00:30 something not right with the harness, also the reflection on the landboard is very artificial, shadows are not real either, wheels before landing are just 2D shapes, also landing is not natural, not dynamic, very stiff. Well fabricated but not real!

Nah its real. Thats because of video stabilization and the processing with the Video Programm from Go Pro. Even huge impacts looking like super smooth if you turn the settings up.
