Sarah sent me. I'm so glad she did. You have such vision. You elevated this piece 1000 times. My only wish is that you had filled and smoothed the edge of the front addition so from the side veiw it would look seemless and like solid wood.

Hi! Thank you. Yes, so the locks an ALL cedar chest were recalled some time ago for safety concerns. I always remove the lock on mine, but you could also request a free lock replacement from Lane.

Like the natural wood look you were able to achieve.. I would love to try that. You make it look easy but I know a lot of work went into preparing the chest. The brass legs modernized it even more.. do they just screw in? Thanks for the video! Do you like Lilly moon paint products and what would you compare them to? 🙂

Yes, the legs need to be screwed. I added the link under the video description, and the image gives you a pretty good idea how to attached them. I love Lilly Moon Paint, it’s very creamy. It reminds me to Dixie Belle Silk. You don’t really have to take completely apart like I did. The finish alone will brighten your piece.
