Extreme motorbike Recovery using Manchester Magnet Men Secret Weapon which was previously a ride on mower but now is used to pull out dumped motorbikes from the Manchester canals.

I met up with the manchester magnet men and we had an amazing day magnet fishing the manchester canals looking for stolen motorbikes to recover and hopefully get them back to there owners.

As pushbikes get recovered , I am now reconditioning them as a job in Staffordshire as a volunteer mechanic . Its a bit far from were you live but someone is still pulling them out in winter time , keep it up who ever it is .

Good old ATCO, always reliable. I dragged a 30 year old ATCO Royale 49e out of a filthy shed where it had sat idle for 15 years covered in filth and a layer of fumes from a generator. New oil, new fuel and a clean air filter and it started on the third pull.

If that shovel was more solid, it could be used for metal detecting digging. Maybe leave the edges as it is or cuts a few notches in it for cutting through roots. All-in-all, a few good days recovery.

Have you ever looked into the oil spillage pads. Supposedly they can absorb a litre of oil, they float on water yet only absorb oil. Just thought it worth a mention. Great video Gareth 👍

However, it would be nice for you to get a little something but on the other hand, it does give the scrap man money for petrol to put in the lorry to travel around and pick up all the rubbish all you of pull from the canals!!! I’m thinking you need a big fishing net to scoop all the running out that’s on the top of the water. Im loving the secret weapon 😆🤣 it works ay better than the usual wench and strap! 😆😆 You need Dan there to try and ride the push bike 😆🤣 I live in East Tennessee USA and I so enjoy watching all the magnet fishing channels!!! I’m so jealous of you all because I’d love to experience this along with the Mud Larking as well!! I’m subscribed to so many of these channels and going back to watch older videos to catch up and I’ll say some of the finds are unbelievable and amazing. However, I have to say that many leave me scratching my head (ie: the bra) and wondering to exactly why is that in the canal or even the proverbial WTH to WTF? Top tip - truly one drop of washing up liquid would get rid of all that oil. take some and try it. make a good vid

@@drasticg compared to the oil pollution its a much better option, you can buy eco friendly washing up liquid. Put some oil in a bowl of water covering it then add one drop of washing up liquid and Bobs ya uncle

Washing-up liquid will only visibly get rid of the oil, the washing-up liquid is an emulsifier and when added to oil and water it only allows them to mix together, so the canal might look cleaner but the oil is now mixed in more thouroughly with the water and is more difficult to remove properly. To properly clean up an oil spill you need whats called a sorbant material, most likely a large fabricy net that will absorb oil but not water thats cast over the top and dredged.
