I’m glad this video was long and you let us see step by step how it’s done. How it looks crappy before you prefect it, cause that’s exactly how it really goes. I swear to God, the nails you do are the most beautiful nails I’ve ever seen. Not just these but all of your sets. I wish some day I will be just 10% as good as you and I will be more than happy. I hope to have the money to go to school and be a certified nail artist some day. But it’s so expensive and I can’t work as much as I would like, because of fibromyalgi. I have been making my own nails for a couple of years. I want to have clients but would never touch another persons nails without being certified so.. Got to make sure you put a clear base before the black. It's weaker, the more pigment in your acrylic powder the more brittle it is and must cap as well. Just a helpful tip. I didn't know and went nearly mad trying to figure it out. Now I know and it's all good

Young Nails has a gorgeous set of gel paints with not only the basic colours but a beautiful range of colours in a well priced set and they come with a super fine detail brush. They can also be used as full cover colour as well. For brushes you can’t go past the Japanese brushes by TATI, they are divine to wrk with and I have spent an absolute bloody fortune on brushes like the Light Elegance Sets that just don’t do it for me. I have been a member of Neiru P, a Japanese on line eduction program for two years and for a long time I refused to by more brushes, but I gave in and got the Tati set and I haven’t looked back. Hope this helps, 😉 PS We also have two special needs boys at home and Christmas is so overwhelming for them. Not the present part thou 😂😂😂

It would depend on the length of the nail and if they wanted sculpted or tips so it is hard to say. But it would take a lot longer than a standard set and I fully believe that nail techs generally undercharge because of pressure from the salons that have low quality work done in 30 mins.

Pricing is hard. It depends on the length of the nail, if it is sculpted or using tips and also how long it takes you to do along with your product and overhead costs. I would say don't sell yourself short! I would be charging around £50 for these

Hi Robin! ok firstly I are you UK based as it is different here to USA for example. Here our courses can be anything from one or two days, to a week or a long course which is home study. My training was very basic, I did a two day course, literally day 1 acrylic and day 2 gel. It was rubbish to be honest, but enough to teach me the health and safety and contraindications. The rest I have developed through practice. I believe in the USA the teaching is a lot more in depth but also a lot more expensive. xx

And i was lucky to find a course that was nails only... to get licensed as a nail tech. here, most of the time its a cosmetology lic. with a specialization in nails! its Crazy long! I WISH it were only 2 days... OK, well i guess i will be a bit more generally Specific! {lol, you like how i did that!?}...Instead of the nail tech part, i will ask this...If i say, want to start practicing everything Acrylic, gel, gel paint, 3D nail art, basically the whole array! What would you suggest, in the way of products are the "MUST Haves"{ If you cant afford to spend a ton of money} what are the "Basic" acrylic and gels to begin to practice?.... and if you can, where have you found the best prices?{that might be a UK/US thing again lol}

I started with Naio nails acrylic system. Here in the UK we only have three main producers of acrylic, so a lot of systems are actually the same products with a different brand ( I learnt that the expensive way ;) But with Naio, you can chose a monomer speed setting to match your level of work, which helps a lot and they core system is HUGE!. Gels wise, at the moment I have only tried a few brands, I love Young nails but it is a bit pricey. xx

Robin Bowman I’ve tried to do my own nails several times over the years and have always failed. That is, until I found polygel. I actually use a cheap dupe of the original. I love it! It has a consistency closer to acrylic, but you have unlimited play time because you have to use a light to cure it like with gel. I highly recommend!

If it is copy written that’s different. But I did go and have a look at their website and their acrylic does look good! Might give it a whirl and see if I like it. X

Cheak ebay out type in acrylic nail brushes they dead cheap and good I only bye of ebay if given u link to my fave brush I use for my acrylic apply hope helps xx
