Pro tip: My dad used scraps to build "file folders" for his scrap wood. Kind of like the Ikea magazine holders. Longer in the back and shorter in the front. Then he "files" them vertically from shortest to tallest so he can sort through the scraps and pull the ones he needs out quickly.

Mine would do the same thing, except the longer pieces would be tucked in the exposed joists in the garage ceiling to get them out of the way

Hey! For the clear boxes that are sliding back on the shelves..maybe just pop some of your scrap wood blocks behind them to wedge them into position so they can't move backwards. (Says me while procrastinating against tidying my own shed...😄)

Make sure your paint won't get ruined due to outside temperatures! Too low or too high temperatures will affect the quality of the paint 🤗

It’s wild to believe there are still places in our world where most people are good humans… where I live we have never locked our doors, ever. Don’t even have a house key and my in laws who owned the house for 30 years before us never have had a house key either. Some places are “safer” and not that nothing can ever happen but not a direct worry. I am thinking MaCenna’s neighborhood is the same

You can use push pins or nails behind the plastic drawers to prevent them from sliding. Or if you don’t want to put holes into your new shelves, use command hooks and they just act as a door stop behind. Looks great! I love organizing. That was so cathartic. Can’t wait till you move some stuff from inside to your new workshop outside!

Something else that may work to prevent slipping is the mesh rubber mats you put under a rug. You can get them from the dollar tree.

Unsolicited suggestion for the drawers sliding around. Ziptie them together in the back 😊 if they're all attached they will likely not move. Holy effort! It turned out so nice!

you shouldn't keep paint outside, extreme cold and heat and large temperature swings are bad for the paint and can make it unusable. you should really keep it in a temperature controlled space, like a basement or closet in your main house (i.e. not in your sheds either).

Maybe you could put a bungee cords behind the plastic bins to keep them from shifting too far back. The hooks would fit into the holes of the metal brackets.

You need a tool chest like those craftsman red or black drawers, for your hand tools. I use the plastic bins for the other stuff/supplies a bin for plumbing, a bin for electrical, painting supplies, drywall/wall repair supplies, flooring, caulk, etc.

this is my language...I LOVE organizing! Don't forget if it freezes to bring in the paints, putty and caulking things- they will be ruined in freezing temps. And I'm sure I'm not the only one who hopes you put your tools inside before leaving town. It sure would be awful to come home and have been cleaned out!

I love, LOVE organization, so this video it all the marks! And it looks sooo good! One quick tip: if temps drop below 32F/0C you should store your paints/stains and probably your glues inside. Once this stud get frozen over the consistency will NEVER be the same and you’d have to toss it.

For your plastic storage boxes, take out the drawer and drill and small hole into the plastic frame and put a smell screw into the plywood shelving. It would help hold them in place and you could easily take the screw out and reuse them elsewhere when it’s time. You wouldn’t see the screw once the drawers back in place. Looks amazing!

That's what I did to my shed..I took everything out and then started organizing tools,outdoor garden tools, etc in containers and put up pegboard on the walls and used some plywood to put up above in the open area that supposed to have been finished for a storage loft..you did an amazing job MaCenna 🧑‍🎄☕🐻‍❄️☃️⛄❄️⛸️🎄🦌🌲❤️

Great job organizing! You could put the anti slip material for rugs under your plastic organizer bins to keep them from sliding. I use that n my Tupperware drawer in the kitchen and it works great and it’s cheap to buy!

For the bins that move you can use the “rubber” shelf liners. That’s what I use to prevent things like that moving on shelves.
