Looks like pombomb is hardcoded to have unique behavior that wasn’t accounted for correctly with all the charms and stuff. That’s really funny!
@MarcellusJasonClay Жыл бұрын
I think its because its coded as hits both lanes and barrage and durian only removes the barrage only.

It's part of what makes this game both fun and frustrating sometimes, but with so many possible interactions it's only normal some of them don't work as they should.

So excited to see another wildfrost vid, especially since the series seems to be coming to an end soon. I love this series so much and will be sad when it ends! If this is the last video, thank you for all the fantastic content. Your Wildfrost vids are a lot of fun, and watching them really helped when I was going through a rough patch. This brought me to your channel, and I'll be sticking around for more great work!

15:08 I see the pombomb secretly hits both lanes and has barrage. The secretly barrage got removed, but the secretly hits both lanes didn't. Edit: it doesnt secretly have barrage, its just targets both lanes and its ability makes it hit all undamaged enemies. The hits undamaged enemies is removed, but it weird targeting property isn't, since normal targeting is probably a secret property too.
@EricPhail Жыл бұрын
My guess would be inherently considered to hit both lanes (like 2 height bosses), barrage (not visible, is removeable), doesn't hit enemIes below full health. It works similarly to the hit all boss (ink reduces it to hit both front positions, like other 2 height bosses) as far as I can tell.
@andrejbosiakov5726 Жыл бұрын
@@EricPhail I don't think it has barrage, feels like it has the property that makes it hit all full health enemies and that got removed. Seems more consistent.
@keeno5567 Жыл бұрын
My theory would be it’s coded to check health for both lanes front to back before applying damage but removing the keywords removed the part where it switches to the next enemy after a check.

One thing about builds is that you don't always have to win the last fight, sometimes the journey and funny builds that maybe are not that effective but fun to try so please keep the series going maybe not everyday if you find it tiring but would be fun to have a few wildfrost videos every week

I believe the reason the pombomb works that way is because it has no targeting, for example when a card says "random enemy" it will pick any enemy in any lane so that in itself actually has a target. Barrage also has a "target" because it is targeting the first enemy in the lane and then doing the damage going back so it has a target. So all the cards have a type of "target" like all, random, hurt, unhurt. So because pombomb has absolutely no target it is defaulting to the most basic rule which is first enemy in each lane. Also notice when you play anything it displays a square over an enemey or if its a random enemy it displays a square over all 3 enemies in lane and pombomb doesnt have that targeting mechanic when he plays it so again it is defaulting to code rule #1 and hitting the first enemies in each lane. Also sidenote i have put a demon goat charm on snoffel which i thought it would apply 1 demonize to everything however it only applied 1 demoize to the first enemy to the lane snoffel was in, so again i think it defaults to a basic code. Sorry for the long post take a potato for the road 🥔

Are there any recommendations for a Retromation series to watch that gives as similar experience to watching him play Wildfrost as possible?

In the krunker fight you had fought through all the waves in phase one, the counter stopped a few turns before you went to phase two, which is why nothing showed up phase two. It seems the fight just has X waves, that don't care what phase you are in. I think your idea of fixing a certain number to each phase is a good one. It helps slower decks not have to slog through every wave in the fight to get to phase two.
@Justicetom21 Жыл бұрын
This is definitely part of it, but I also think that the fight is a little strange because of how often reinforcement waves get cut off. The way reinforcements work is that they have, like, 4 new enemies 'queued up', and if a wave cannot throw all of the new enemies out because space is filled, it just delays them until the next set of reinforcements. In the Krunker fight, because of how many of the enemies are spike walls/other clunkers/enemies that take time to kill/you need to be more careful around bombard, you spend a lot more time doing damage mitigation rather than killing enemies, which results in a much larger queue of enemies than normal. It doesn't seem to weigh a 4 scrap spike wall as dangerously as it probably should in terms of how enemies are valued when designing fights, and so you spend 3 turns whittling one down and 2 more show up immediately after. With 3 more clunky boys queued up that didn't have space to spawn

Before you end it, I wonder if you could look in your bestiary/card list. The last time you opened it I noticed an undiscovered space. It was a few episodes back so it may have been seen by now, but hey, it might be worth a look.

The Krunker Boss fight feels as oddly placed as the Ammocobra in Enter the Gungeon. It's the only boss in both games that feel out of place for some reason. Both are a little too "extra" in my humble opinion.

Hey Retro. Trying to learn here, is there a reason you never Lumin Vase'd your Aloy? Getting 2 scrap per kill instead of 1 on junkhead would keep him alive longer. Is it because you eventually wanted junkhead to die so you stop getting junk in your hand? Also, just wanted to say that I love how good you are at explaining your thought process. While I still make insanely stupid decisions in my own games, and I'm not nearly as good as you yet, I'm getting better because of your videos. Edit: made this comment before the end of the video. I totally understand if you need to step away from Wildfrost. Not getting burned out on a game is important.
@RobotnikPlngas Жыл бұрын
Remember that using the Lumin vase on a new target removes it from the original "haver"
