I like what you did originally but yes adding a bit of color and texture helps balance out the streamlined look. I like the green curtain and the hanging screens are super fun. The touch lamp is cute and the spilled water how fun is that! My mom was an opera singer and she taught voice and piano. Oh I really like the wood shelves at the end of the bed that is a really good idea. You did a great job!
