it's so nice to actually see real nails being worked on versus the tips. I never get tired of seeing the acrylic being applied, and filed.

And Faye, “sneaky” is a word in America (to sneak around and be secretive). Kirsty as always, entertaining and lovely work. Entertainment along with the teaching is a blast.

I love how you did your umbrae. That makes sense to me now. That way you don't see the umbrae under the nail, only on top.
@calichef19625 жыл бұрын
Most people spell it "ombre," however, that's not strictly correct. It's really hombre, and it mean "man" is Spanish. How that came to mean colors that fade together, I think came from yarns and embroidery flosses. Those items were (and still are) available in colors that faded one into the other. Some were monochromatic, like several shades of blue, and others were rainbows that faded one color into the next color.

Love these nails!! From swedish a literal translation is berry coat walk. But like someone else wrote, it comes from nordic warriors dressed in bearskin screaming and biting their shields. Berserk comes from islandic language ber (bear) and serkr (shirt)

We use the word bezerk in the US. Those are lovely, I love the lemon yellow color. We aren't taught to use the pinching tool here, does it strengthen the apex, or is it just for the look of the nail?
@kimeko85 жыл бұрын
Both
@cassieLBscoville5 жыл бұрын
Pinching the nail adds strength by giving the nail a C-Curve. C-Curves and apex’s, are one of the strongest things we have in architecture, still to this day. It also makes the nail slimmer, becoming more visually appealing to the eye.

Why do you use non acid primer sometimes and acid based primer in other videos what’s the difference ? Anyone know
@NaioNailsOfficial5 жыл бұрын
Acid-free primer, in contrast to acid-based primer, does not contain any acid components. Therefore, acid-based primer is stronger and it's more suitable for nails with a tendency for lifting. Both products are is used to make the natural nail more compatible with the enhancement product. Kirsty is presenting the difference between these two products in one of our videos here ( after 6th minute): kzbin.info/www/bejne/r5nFc4aioNGXb9k

Reverse setting would be for cuticle removal shes mentioned it before in other videos. One direction for one side the other direction for the opposite side to keep the dust going outwards. Hope this helps

The word BERSERK is actually from the viking age. The words Ber and serk meant that a warrior only wore (to bear) a shirt (a special type of shirt actually a thin shirt that should be worn under their armor called a serk) bc they were so fierce and wild (probably from eating shrooms before fighting..) So in Norway we say that someone "goes berserk" if they are acting crazy/out of control.

@calichef19625 жыл бұрын
Rubber gloves sound like a marvelous idea to me! I never thought of that! I think the only way to keep stones from catching in your hair is to set them into acrylic/acrygel. When they are set into acrylic of some kind it covers all the edges so your hair can't catch under them.

I have always thought that berserk _was_ a Nordic word. I know about the viking berserkers who would go live in the forest, eat magic mushrooms and fight bears and wolves, etc. But I don't know which came first, the word berserk or the berserkers.

I'm not a yellow person at all. Sorry. Just me. But, these nails are pretty.
@calichef19625 жыл бұрын
Yellow is a difficult color for most women, I think. There are so many shades and values of yellow that it's as hard to match as red colors. And then there is the optical illusion that yellow things look much larger. That's why it's so hard to find nice looking yellow clothes. Manufacturers are very aware that yellow looks bigger and they also know that nearly all women want to look smaller. That sort of makes yellow the redheaded step-child of the color wheel.
