feel free to leave the pocket stitching in tack - it keeps the shape of your suit - and keeps you from sticking your hands in your suit jacket pocket and stretching the pocket and eventually looking like a kangeroo. The suit large pocket fell out of "function" about 60 years ago. If you want use a pocket on your suit/use the "inside jacket pocket" and look like james Bond instead of Mr. Magoo
@MauricXe2 жыл бұрын
notice how he said "carefully remove" dont rip them out....it could cause damage. i actually leave the front pockets stitched (not the pocket square) unless they're patch pockets. I don't use my front pockets anyway.
@joshuajohnson93932 жыл бұрын
I tend to agree with front pockets staying in. It helps the suit keep it's shape by avoiding stretch and fall back into shape. If I need to fill my pockets to the brim why not bring a bag.

I notice some people leaving the label on the sleeve of their new coats. Like, say, a cashmere coat that has the label that tells you were the wool was made. I have to wonder if these people just don't realize it's not a design element.

Indeed you feel GREAT in a suit. I started a job recently that requires a suit, and it is a hoot! The best is coordinating the shirt and tie. Really looks sharp to have a color that pops, or go the sleeker, dark route. Plus my dad is a retired teacher. He doesn't need them anymore, so he game me all the ties. Not just his ties... I have ALL THE TIES! In over 2 months, never wore a tie twice so far.

Please if you use your suit for business, do not open the lower pockets, especially if you like slim fits. First having bulges there looks ugly, besides even if you have nothing in your pockets, once they have been opened the look is kinda different. If you wanna put stuff in your suit jacket just use the inside breast pocket.

Back in the day in Britain, those who preferred a more formal look took great care of their clothes, whether they were rich or poor; and because there were many guys like that, knowledge of how to wear and look after clothes was widespread. Nowadays every thing starts from scratch: Guys discovering watches for the first time have to learn the hard way about things their fathers and grandfathers could have told them about. The current trend of wearing jackets that stop halfway down your arse is only temporary and looks pathetic on almost anyone who doesn't have a perfectly proportioned body. A top Saville Row tailor, if you asked for such a thing would probably suggest that 'Perhaps sir has the wrong address'.
@theamaturepro7 ай бұрын
Well I just accidentally cut the arm off my jacket. Would much rather have the tack stitching than the paper staples I used for reattachment. Maybe sleeveless jackets will just have to be a trend 😂

Narrower ties are the style and I think I like narrower ties and then I see an outfit as you are wearing for this video and it just looks RIGHT with that 3+ inch tie width. I know proportion of lapel and tie width are crucial but 2 inch lapel and 2 inch tie only looks proportional and correct if you have a 30 in chest and 24 inch waist. I can't get past the little boy's dept vibe of the "Mad Men" style. Thank you for not falling into the fad trap.

The colour and style are fine as are the shirt and tie combination. As usual with most modern jackets, the cut is poor. When you button up the top button, the suit should not gather and form a ruche. I know you won’t agree but that doesn’t stop it from looking and feeling wrong.

Does the confidence when wearing a suit fade away if you always wear suit or is it always there
@JP_TaVeryMuch6 ай бұрын
I bet that you could answer your question in five minutes flat if you only came at it from a different direction. For suit swap it with camouflage gear and then ask again. We all know that the answer is suit/camo gear! What camo gear? Within moments of getting on with the job in hand (if not actually ages before) your suit wearer/soldier doesn't think about his/her suit/uniform because of being slap bang in the middle of getting on with the task at hand. So, as you know yourself deep down if you'd only care to look, So shall you. One final piece of advice that always helps me along: Noël Coward, the top satirist and playwright of the interwar period buoyed up a fellow actor thus; If you want to be subversive, Dress like a stockbroker!
