What makes it so bizarre is the amount of really strange information none of which adds up.. two bright-blonde man and woman with bright blue eyes, a blind persian woman, what actually happened to cause the truck to crash, how the people in the van got their hands on Juan in the first place (unless it was him who the woman somehow picked up from inside the cab), who the people even were.. so bizarre

I guarantee you that family in the 3rd story got approached by drug traffickers who kidnapped the boy in order to force the parents to move product for them. Then the dad probably had a medical emergency of some kind which caused them to crash and the people in the van were following the truck to ensure they completed delivery. Then the woman grabbed the heroin after the crash and sped out of there.

For the 3rd story my guess is that Juan was kidnapped and the parents behaviour was just sheer panic which then caused an accident. They slowed down and stopped a couple of times to maybe ask people if they had seen their son, check roads and other cars. The van and the people inside it were the kidnappers and stopped to "help" to see if they could steal some stuff. Maybe they asked Juan if his parents had anything valuable and he told them about his mothers purse or his fathers wallet or something and that's what the woman ended up taking from the truck. Just speculating for fun.

My husband and I heard this song coming home from visiting the family for the holidays, I told him I rememebered always listening to this song and I had loved it, and I wanted to know what the song really was about. When I read it out loud in the car, my husband and I cried and listened to it two more times. It literally changed our views on it. So crazy you covered it, considering me and my husband just found out about the story behind it. ❤

I love the fact that Fastball's song "The Way" was based on Leila and Raymond's story. Of course, it was a fanciful musing that was penned before the couple were found deceased. I believe that one of the bandmembers said something about giving them a happy ending that they didn't get, which I think is lovely.
@Krangkus

Listening to it now, after hearing the story, makes me think that even after they were found dead, the song still tells their story just the way it happened. They got up and left, their car broke down, and they went to walk the golden highway in eternal summer far up in heaven above. That's beautiful to me.
@BCFBreakfastClubFan

Thanks for your service bro. I recently read the story about the 2 Navy Seals who died not long ago. When I first heard "The Way", I remembered thinking that part of the lyrics where it goes "they won't make it home, but they really don't care, they wanted the highway, they're happier there today" seemed so weird. That's when I looked up what the lyrics were about and the song took on a whole different meaning to me at that point. I still feel like it's a happy song, even after you realize the darkness surrounding it, it's still a charming song about an elderly couple at the end of their lives that set out to take a trip on their own terms.

@michellecarl1255 This. Really love how the song writer chose to flash back and forth with the couple old, as their son remembered them, then young and hot, and going to their concert, as they'd been doing and as they saw themselves. It was like a memorial. I think they figured they've had quite some life. Once you start getting dementia, nothing is pleasant after that. I picture them nodding with a smile, her grabbing the wheel and steering for their favorite outlook. Bless them.

Thank you for talking about depression after transitioning from the military to civilian life as I served for 18 years with a tour of Iraq (Royal Australian Air Force). For many years my depression got so bad that I couldn’t function however with the help from friends, family and DVA I started seeing a Psychiatrist. I had suppressed many disturbing memories regarding my operational deployment and it took one very special Psychiatrist a matter of only 3 sessions to draw those memories out into the open. Once we knew what I was dealing with he decided that cognitive therapy wasn’t working and we started rebuilding my life from the ground up and haven’t looked back…he literally saved my life. Now I can tell war stories without rehashing the awful stuff…just the good memories. Since then I have also used my experience to help others including a wonderful man that served in the US Army in Afghanistan. Thank you for your service MrBallen 🙏🏼🇦🇺❤️

Dad definitely was into some shady business, wether it was drug related or not (truckers are known to take drugs to go through long shifts). That sudden "let's go across the country on vacation in my tank truck" is weird in itself. Sounds like dad was running away from something and taking his family with him to protect them. Whoever was after him ended up catching up. As to the kid, I dont see how he would have survived if both his parents died. The only thing that comes to my mind is organ trafficking...

@@MikeMandrillDon’t forget that emergency services couldn’t go near the truck for hours, so they could’ve actually been alive upon impact and succumbed to their injuries or just breathing in the acid fumes while unconscious. It seems like they could've found out if she put his "meat" into the food too, but didn't even bother to try to find that out. Europe frequently insults the US justice system (I'm not saying there aren't problems) but if you look at their justice system they barely sentence these ppl (take a look at the UK) so they have no room to insult any other country. There’s some clues in the music video, except there the couple travels in RV instead of sedan (at least if my memory is even a lil bit right). But the reality was different, my only silver lining is how they get to die together. Not much, but something.

I remember reading about "The Way" many years ago and the band mentioned that they thought the old couple might've ran away on a romantic getaway and leaving everything behind to start a new carefree life or to escape their current one or something. So, they composed the song. Then they saw the updated news about finding their bodies. It's heartbreaking. Next time you guys listen to the song, pay close attention to the lyrics. Best tip I've heard in a long time. A definite MUST for reposting. If you are ever lost while hiking, or get stranded with a broken down car, ect and notice your mobile phone is low on battery or has no signal, here is a tip that may save your life. Change your voicemail to a message that gives your approximate location, the time, the date and your situation (lost, stranded, injured, car trouble) and any special instructions like you are staying with the car or walking towards town ect.... The best part of this is even if your phone dies or has no service your voicemail will still be heard by whoever trys to call you and they can either come find you or send help more easily. Pass On This Message. It Is A Life Saver!!!

If she was driving at night in Arkansas (ive been there i can attest) that those roads are very scary and hard to see sometimes. She may have driven off on accident but it definitely was not on purpose. If you want to see more interesting info about this I recommend watching Adeventures with Purpose. Thought of it immediately, but their life also sounded like they would be a couple that believes in God and church goers. Those believe suicide is a sin, so i dismissed that, but maybe im also wrong and they did decided to do it on a day that was special for them too, but again, i think that wasn't the case, it was probably terrible accident and why there weren't any marks is probably that she just couldn't grasp the situation and react fast enough, as they were older people and it was so sudden for them.

In Germany, for example, most criminals are no longer afraid of punishment because in most cases they are far too harmless or the perpetrators are not prosecuted anyway. Furthermore, our prisons are almost as comfortable as hotels. I recently saw a TV report about a German prison where the prisoners even had a PS2 in their cell. They are also allowed to smoke there, receive visits from their partners in a private room with a bed and buy cigarettes, snacks and other food in a prison supermarket...
