Dude, the editing is so good. The Morbius to Mobius, or anything that only pops up for a 1 second gag but actually takes so much effort is so cool to see. And all the little call backs to stuff from as far back as 2019. A huge part of me getting into DBD and it's community, and the friends I've made along the way started with those stream highlights. Inner monologue is a very important but overused in a lot of media. The point of a voice over is supposed to be a way to get you inside of the head character. It allows you to watch their actions while telling you what they are thinking throughout. A lot of the time it’s self explanatory or even beats in a message but sometimes it’s perfect. Look at the card scene from American Psycho. It would be good but not as iconic without the inner monologue about the color and watermark.

I actually agree with Scott 100 percent on the anime monologue opinion. The problem is, the movies you're showing aren't really a good representation of how anime tends to do it; the movies shown are communicating directly to the viewer to set a scene while anime tends to just have really awful in the moment thought sequences that aren't needed at all.
