After nearly a month of operations teaming up with the GLenbrook Vintage Railway, Steam Incorporated's Ja 1271 was steamed up on Monday 17 October 2022, to be turned at Glenbrook for the GVR's upcoming North Island Tour commencing Monday.
With the GVR's Ww locos in steam, a private run for GVR & Steam Inc crews took place on the GVR's line, with all three steam locomotives triple heading!
The run took place after turning all three locos at Glenbrook, from Fernleigh to Waitangi Stream, with photo runs being held at Shakesphere Rd & Waitangi Stream.
This is an incredibly rare occurance - especially in the history of the New Zealand Railways, and is most likely that a triple header with a Ja and two Ww's has never taken place before.
It has been an amazing few weeks teaming up with Steam Inc - for future trips and tours check out www.gvr.org.nz & www.steaminc.org.nz.
