eXtremeRate Atomic Purple Nintendo Switch Console and Joy Con shells.

Time to swap out those tired old shiny joy con shells and replace them with the eXtremeRate Atomic Purple shells! As always I'm going in to this mod blind. So lets have some fun making a purple Nintendo switch!

Been wanting to do this for a year or so now, but I’m kind of a clumsy lump. Worried I’ll mess it up and I can’t afford another switch. So I’ll enjoy my crappy black one for the time being

The backplate looks hella simple. Just do that backplate and buy different colored controllers at the store or something :D

What screw driver set did you use ?

Just a cheep precision set I found on Amazon. Don't trust the ones that come with the kit, they are really awful.

How is it holding up? I want to buy some extremerate shells but I want to know if they are good quality

So far so good. The joycons feel and work just fine still and the console shell looks great! The only thing I would recommend is use the original kickstand as the plastic on the purple one is quite flimsy. But other than that it's bang on for the money.

I tried the screwdriver that came with it and it completely destroyed the screws, I am doomed

Sorry to hear that. Some rounded off on me and were an absolute nightmare to remove. It's almost as though Nintendo don't like us doing these things :(

@@NottsGamer apparently there's some specific screwdriver for Nintendo products!! I was able to remove the side screws no problem, but the main 4 on the back are gonna be a challenge and a half 😭

@@NottsGamer I bought a screwdriver set that suits the Nintendo screws and that got out two of the four!
