Because they don't understand they are also spiritually trashing God and the sacred honorable meaning behind wearing that white dress. It represents purity and preparation unto their husband. +ProSecondAmendment It doesn't represent purity. It represents wealth. Queen Elizabeth had a white dress, which was rare during that time because most people didn't have the money to bleach a dress just to wear it once. In Christianity, blue represents virginity and purity, which is why Mary is frequenly seen wearing a blue shawl. Sunday school teachers simply hijacked the idea of a white dressto mean that white means purity. Also, not everyone getting married is Christian.
