Exway Ripple - lightweight, affordable e-board for the last mile

Hey, I'm Lukas, and today we're checking out the Exway Ripple. This e-board takes last-mile transportation to the next level. The standout feature for me is the compact design with 75 mm wheels. It's smaller and lighter, making it easy to handle and transport. The unique board shape adds a cool factor and allows for additional tricks. LED lights serve as both decoration and battery level indicators. When it comes to riding, the Exway Ripple delivers. The 7" reverse trucks ensure stability, and the dual motors provide good climbing capabilities.
In terms of range, the manufacturer claims 12 km, but in my experience, it was closer to 10 km. However, what impressed me was the charging speed. With the optional GaN charger, you can go from 0 to 100 in just 60 minutes. That's perfect for quick commutes.
The board can reach speeds of up to 35 km/h on flat terrain, which is pretty decent for its size. The controller has a display showing battery capacity, distance traveled, and speed. While it lacks USB-C, it does offer vibration feedback to alert you when the battery is low.
If I had to summarize it all, I'm very pleased that Exway continues to expand the concept of last-mile transportation. I feel great in this smallest category, not only because it's enjoyable to have an amazingly agile e-board, but also because it can be beneficial and truly function as that missing transportation link. Great video. I usually ride a Backfire Zealot S but am looking to get a board for having always with me in the trunk of my car. Ripple seems perfect for such use. As it’s small and affordable.

Only a few airline allow eskate boards now! Most of the major will not allow them to be on board!😮

Very very nice direction things are going in. Some things I'd love is TKP trucks, hollows, (as opposed to RKP). Because manual grinds are sketch with the kingpin facing that way. Also smaller wheels. 65mm tops, 50 - 65 region. Secondly experiment with harder durometeres, 90a, 97a, 99 even. I'm talking a transition eskate board. Something purely for the skatepark. I know no brakes with hard durometeres but don't need them in the skatepark. Also truck widths, I hate wheels that stick out. Would be great to have options with narrower trucks where the wheels are parallel with the deck or even just out of sight from above. Currently all the boards the wheels stick out so so far. Battery enclosure, see Bustin Boards, try flat and balanced for grinds on. A kick nose would be awesome too . Love the direction this boards gone in but Bustin and a french eskate company already have equal boards to this. If you want to do something really different experiment with what I said above. Transition eskating is so much fun. Can skate lines you can't on a non electric. And it helps me progress on non electric having a throttle. Speed is your friend on transition. Overall this board looks great just it's been done. Wanna do something different those are the things that haven't been done yet. And a board like that would appeal to transition and street style skaters. The longboard market is saturated. Not yet. Not here. However, I'm definitely eager to test it out once it's released. I'm curious to see how it will impact not only the range but also its performance on uphill. 🛹✊🏻

@@RideWithLukas performance-wise, it should be exactly the same as it's only a small battery weight increase; things like larger wheels can reduce your torque/top speed by 3mph for every 10mm increase though
