My heart just exploded. At 54 years of age, and after a traumatic brain/head injury I found the piano and began composing a certain sound that I thought only I understood, so I kept it hidden in a way. Then I hear this, and I know my entire being isn’t alone in the majesty and gift of life. Tonight, I cried a little in happiness.

I read about her music just now, she grew up in the next town over from my childhood town, which has basically the same views that inspired her music and I think because of that this art resonates very deeply with me. The brooding dark clouds hanging low, dominating, oppressive, smothering in a windy storm. But looking out to the sea you might see birds circling some god rays in the distance and beyond that the steep shores of Strandir, that are close but feel like a far away distant mystery land, that part of Iceland is one of the least populated.

I’m so glad I found this. It literally has been on my radio playing everyday. It gives me so much peace and calms down my inner child. It’s so good for cleaning or driving in my car. It’s really helped me get through a rough time of healing my trauma. Thank you for this beautiful healing music, this heavenly music. ❤️

I only chose Eydís Evensen as she was on my KZbin wall and in the end I was very pleased. I´m a fan now. I perceive her as a native from Norway, Finland or Iceland. She has that feeling.

This is pure ethereal bliss -- such a magnificent gift from the precious soul of this truly special and wondrous musician. Like others, I have listened to this performance countless times since discovering it a week ago. There is such beautiful energy that flows from the beginning to the end. It leaves me calmed, inspired, soothed, comforted, transported, and deeply moved. Thank you so much, dear Eydís and KEXP, for sharing this with us all. You are treasures. ❤

I have it set up with the same track list on apple music and listen to it while working. Must have listened to it more than 300 times. Maybe more. All the tracks melt into one another. And before I know it, the playlist has finished and I'm hitting the play button. Again. This music, man. This is music.
