My heart just exploded. At 54 years of age, and after a traumatic brain/head injury I found the piano and began composing a certain sound that I thought only I understood, so I kept it hidden in a way. I found this last night. I have listened 6 times, now. I’ve been grieving and in survival mode for many years. My grandfather was a pianist. When I was a child I would sit next to him while he played piano and enamored by his hands moving across the keys … such beautiful melodies healing .. thank you for this masterpiece

Timing for this recommendation couldn't have been better. Being forced to move due to landlord selling the house, stressed beyond stressed trying to find a home for my family and hit a breaking point. Had a mini melt down, sat down to try and calm my nerves and put some music on. Found this and wow...am I glad a clicked it. So relaxing and as someone else said, ethereal. Closed my eyes and it took me somewhere else, somewhere peaceful and helped me regroup. Thank you for posting.

Keep your head up. This happened to me once too and I was gutted!! I think times like this are a blessing in disguise. I now love where I live and I'm thankful for the hardship. I realize this might easier said than done not knowing your full circumstances however try to remain focused on what you can control and what you're able to depict 👍☺️

Good on you. Always best to start the little'uns off young learning instruments and languages. got my youngest a guitar and a french language learning book on her 5th birthday. I know it's a long learning process and it sounds better with time but it definitely got on my nerves listening to it non stop. Sounded like absolute shit. Luckily she was alright at the guitar but I had to ban the French lessons as I couldn't bare to listen to it anymore.

I read about her music just now, she grew up in the next town over from my childhood town, which has basically the same views that inspired her music and I think because of that this art resonates very deeply with me. The brooding dark clouds hanging low, dominating, oppressive, smothering in a windy storm. But looking out to the sea you might see birds circling some god rays in the distance and beyond that the steep shores of Strandir, that are close but feel like a far away distant mystery land, that part of Iceland is one of the least populated.

Eydís is from Blönduós a small town of under a thousand people, the further north you go the more sparse it gets, but there you will find Kálfshamarsvík a beautiful little bay with columnar basalt formations reaching out into the sea, they look a little like the keys of a piano, I think would be a great location to film a video for 'The Northern Sky' there.

listening the first time, here in Irpin, Ukraine - I would say it sounds as a mood in the city. Like a hope that war will end soon, because city not bombing anymore (thanks God + US/EU/Ukraine forces yet). But there is a lot of infrastructure and homes are ruined. I have it set up with the same track list on apple music and listen to it while working. Must have listened to it more than 300 times. Maybe more. All the tracks melt into one another.
