Eye bags, malar bags or / and festoons. Nasty things. They can make you look tired and older. I have them. I'm not a fan. However with a concealer you can make them look A LOT BETTER and sometimes totally disappear when applied directly to the bag the shadow creates!

I've been doing this technique ever since you taught us a decade ago and it's amazing! I just watched another fairly popular British KZbinr do it and say it was her friend and fellow KZbinrs new technique and said the credit is owed to her. I politely shared that you're the originator of this specific technique from the start. She got upset and told me that "Wayne Goss did not invent the laws of highlighting and contouring." She admitted she has never seen your videos about it, but still didn't believe me. I had no idea giving Wayne credit was offensive to anyone. I only mentioned the specific technique and she's talking about inventing highlighting and contouring. It was strange and didn't make any sense. I've been watching KZbin from the first year and I constantly searched videos about under eye bags, tear troughs, under eye hollows and concealer techniques for them. I watched all the videos, there weren't that many back then. No one before Wayne taught this technique. I got the Aucoin book when I was a teen, this technique was not in there. I watched pro and celeb muas and they weren't doing this technique. Now influencers are pretending it's their own. I see other people being credited all the time for other techniques like Mary Phillips and KJH, but when I share that Wayne gets the credit for this, they react negatively.

I did find this video very helpful, but for more than one reason. I am 49 and definitely struggling with hollows under the eyes. I don't want to mess with fillers either. This video made me feel so much better about my own issues. While some of it is because I now have a technique to try, a lot of it is because of you yourself, Wayne. You have so often repeated the mantra of embracing aging as part of life, and the gift we have of still being here when so many are not. That really stuck with me. I also realized that while you are really bothered by this it is certainly not as noticeable to others as it to you. That is also reassuring - since I feel like you look amazing, so maybe my own eye bags are not the first thing people notice about me. Thank you for continuing to be honest and vulnerable in a relatable way, and for not hiding behind filters,

Sorry guys, I know I'm a bit late but just wanted to say, I get when there is something we don't like on our face it's the first thing we look it amd that stands out when we look in the mirror but before Wayne don't this video and pointed them out I had never seen them before, at all. He just has a good looking face to me. So it'll be like that for you guys as well. You see them but other people dont, think about it, when you look at someone, you see their face as a whole. There are things you don't like that others think are cute as well. Chinese makeup has an eye bag trend, Google it if you don't know what I'm talking about. They draw eye bags in with shadow

So, hi everyone! I just wanted to share a fact. We are all at minimum, 50% better looking than we think. Why is this? It's because when we look in the mirror, all we see is our physicality, and especially any imperfections or annoying changes that come with age, hormones, etc. But when other people interact with us, they see a combination of our humor, intelligence, compassion, spirit and looks. You are beautiful, waay more beautiful than you think. Happy new year!!! ❤️

Wayne, I have the exact same issue. What helped me significantly was quiting sugar and carbs and excess salt! I use the same technique that you just demonstrated, very thin layers with very little setting powder, avoiding application of anything directly under the center of my eye in that area. Also, sleeping with my head raised slightly and mostly on my back. These steps really helped improve the appearance of mine. Thanks Wayne, for your lovely suggestions! I will try yours, as well! @@BeeLZBeeb I just eat as healthy as I can and that curbs the desire for junk food. Also, I drink tons of water. I think of food as fuel instead of entertainment so focus more on getting the right fuel into me whether it's particularly tasty or not. When I do eat a candy or cookies, etc. they're too sweet and I usually can't finish them, usually tossing it because the taste isn't worth the cost. I'm not 100% rigid, and when I have a day of eating crappy foods, I make sure I'm still drinking tons of water (helping to flush them away) and start fresh eating right the on the next day. I was eating nothing but chips, candy, cookies etc., out of depression but when I decided to eat for fuel, energy and general well being, my depression improved. That said, I still have a day or so a week where I'll eat anything, in fact today is one of them lol!

@@shinryujinanswermycalls6648 u cant really "get rid of them", but u can manage them. mine seem to look worse when i lack sleep, have too much salt (and dont exercise /sweat it out) etc etc. from what i understand, malar bags are more so retained fluid between broke layers of skin & collagen, sinus issues etc.. most get them via aging. i started getting mine around 41, but i also have chronic sinusitis. surgery isnt a sure fix. as many surgeons haven't mastered that isolated section, minus not having to work on nearby areas, that may not need work. personally, i would just do as the OP suggested. make simple lifestyle changes. then if the "shrunken" malars still bother u, just use make up

I watched this twice just now. Unfortunately, in the last couple of years (about age 70) I've developed these "bags", more prominent under the left eye. I think I remember a previous video of yours that lightly touched upon this but wasn't specifically dedicated to this technique. I work shifts and also had sleep problems often living on 3 to 4 hours sleep a day/night, so after many years I started to get dreadful eyebags. I read that if you raise your bedhead by 6 to 8 inches in time they would slowly go, so I found a few thick paper back books and gave it a try and they did!!! Sleep problems are sorted out too I read about weighted blankets so bought quite a heavy one, which felt kind of odd but I almost instantly felt myself decompress and have slept much better and for longer ever since.

I’ve had filler on my cheekbones but placed deeply and not around the eye. It works wonders and at 60 I have only the slightest bags. One other thing, silicon under eye patches… discovered them a few months ago, they are remarkably effective under my eyes and have further flattened and reduced over night swelling to a level I’ve not had since my 30’s. They’re not sexy, a bit pesky to get used to and they can come off overnight but I think im addicted.

So I just want to send you lots of love because of that first video. I saw one when you got filler...and Now I see this one... and it just makes me appreciate you even more. I too hope to find a non filler/surgical solution. I tried the Thomas Peter Roth eye firming cream. It firms the under eye buy I can't used makeup under or over it. And if it overdries there is a white residue you have to constantly moisten again. I feel your frustration in this videos because as a 36 yr old... I shouldn't be struggling for years over this. I know you will need see this but I want to say thank you. I am emerging from a 6 year long severe depression following heart surgery. Since I was a very young teenager I lived for skincare and and makeup. Those loves vanished 6 years ago. A few months ago I began to come to life again. I looked in the mirror with horror seeing what 6yrs of neglect and excessive amounts of sleep had done to my skin and facial structure. I took a deep dive into skincare and I am gaining internet in applying my makeup again. The interest in makeup again sprouted from you and your videos. KZbins algorithms placed you on my screen. I watch a couple dermatologists, and mostly storm chasers. I found it somewhat odd that your were among my usual videos. I’m quite grateful though. It has been less that a week, and I’m already tossing old makeup to prepare for new when I can afford to replace it. Most importantly you need to know how unbelievably talented you are. Above all of this long post you are the kindest most genuine person I have seen in KZbin. (Thank you for telling me that you are as annoyed as I am with those pesky under eye bags as I am)

Thank you SO much, Wayne. I empathize with you so much. I have this problem as well, but mine are more noticeable. Sometimes when I’m doing my makeup I want to cry. I have tried everything to camouflage them, and this is a Godsend for me. I can’t wait to try it. Thank you from the bottom of my heart! ❤

There is a really great treatment for Malar festoons. I have had mine almost completely reduced by the Morpheous 8 treatment in 2 sessions. The downtime is minimal (3-5) days. It's amazing.

@@cristinagabor3941 They apply a numbing cream that takes at least 30 minutes to numb. I have a high threshold for pain and I did feel some pain. Was it unbearable? Not for me. I've had 2 treatments and plan to return in the fall for another. I can honestly say it was worth it as my festoons were making me look older than I am. And the bonus is my treatment went all around the eyes including over my eyebrows. It helped soften my smile lines!

This works...I have the puffiness under my outer eye and deflated bags underneath. I put concealer into the deepest crease of the bags, pat it in, and it helps a lot. It also "glues " the bags together. The puffiness, not so much luck bc I have trouble keeping the concealer from migrating up to the puff. I buy reading glasses that have a lower rim which camoflages the area and wear them even when I don't need the vision correction.

I use a cold roller on them when I have the time and that helps a lot. Keep mine in the fridge. It’s not a permanent fix but it does help with the puffiness xxxx. Love ya xxxxx

thankyou for this post, as I have hit 50 I have woken up to these bags under my eyes and I agree, I dislike them immensely as they tend to age me quite a bit... I am going to try this method and see if I can try to hide these... fillers are sounding really worth it right about now..

Brilliant video. There is a surgery that you can get to get the festoons removed and it's permanent and fantastic . They remove the accumulated fat. here in the US in Tampa Florida I think it was $5,000 you get both eyes done it takes about a week to heal and the results are out of this world.

Great video! Based on extensive research, a long lasting fix likely requires lower blepharoplasty and some tightening of the skin with a CO2 laser afterward. Some surgeons will not require general anesthesia depending on their skill and what needs doing.

I have Graves‘ disease and my bags turned up suddenly with that. I was advised at that time (27) to get blepharoplasty on the undereye bags. I was too scared. I got them done about 6 years ago in a town close to Prague. It was inexpensive and I was there for about 10 days -one night overnight and the rest just taking it easy. I would do it anytime again. The right doctor is important. This guy was very experienced and did this surgery around 4-5 times a week. I’ve never regretted it and almost no-one says „oh… you look tired“ anymore. Unless I really am ;)

So I kind of have this at the beginning stage it's not terrible but after doing lots of research they are starting to come out with some new things to really help diminish festoons. Some of that includes tetracycline injections into the festoon itself and RF micro-needling on that area. There is a doctor in Florida that is a specialist with doing certain surgeries like a lower Bleph and laser to that area and people do have a great outcome. Some of the RF micro-needling and tetracycline injections are still pretty new and there is not a ton of studies out there but there are some and they seem to come out really positive so that is helpful! At least as something non-surgical. I think a lower blepharoplasty with like a CO2 laser on the area seems to help According to some oculoplastic surgeons. This is something I have been messaging some doctors about and helping to get some response to see about needing it in the bud otherwise I will plan on getting a lower blepharoplasty and I think that will help since mine are not super baggy yet..

Looking into threads to pull up the under eye…My med spa had recommended that instead of fillers. I don’t know much about them yet, but thought I would pass the option along.
@Tellyawhat4

I agree. Putting filler in this area is not worth the risk of potentially serious complications. I decided against filler 2 weeks ago after being told about what could go wrong, including blindness. No amount of facial rejuvenation is worth that potential outcome. I'll stick with concealers and Botox does help in other ways around the eyes, but yes, not with hollows since Botox paralyses muscles and hence diminishes wrinkles but does not address the decline in collagen and weakening subcutaneous structure attributed to ageing.

Dear Wayne. I have the same exact problem…have you heard of the Morpheus8 RF device? My doctor recommended three treatments, I’ve done two and I think it’s making a difference. The heat is suppose to shrink the puffiness and get rid off the bags. Painful, but I think I finally found something that is making a difference for the better. Love your videos ❤️

I have bags and it drives me crazy. I’ve had them since I was young but they’ve become more prominent in the past few yrs😩. Overhead lighting is the worst lighting for me. I don’t want fillers because they don’t fully dissolve and they start to look weird over time. My dermatologist said bags are hard to fix the bags but it’s good for tear troughs. I’m 43 and saving for surgery, that’s how much they bother me. This helped a lot. Thank you

Thank you for being honest enough to say that this situation sucks balls (though not in those words). So often the party line is to disregard peoples true feelings about some of the nastier aspects of aging. Heck, you can’t even ADMIT your honest feelings without having them dismissed as somehow wrong because…insert something involving the word “wisdom” here. Well, it is wisdom to know what you don’t like and to change things you don’t like if it is at all possible. I wouldn’t like those things either. I don’t want to look dragged out and tired unless I AM dragged out and tired. It is okay to dislike…even detest…some things tied to living past your 20s or 30s…which, after all is the darned goal!

I have them too and hate them Wayne, every time I look in the mirror they are all I see. My sister in-law told me to try hemroid cream works as she has them and amazingly it works. I only put it under my eyes after the morning after a night out if I have somewhere to go as it is a steroid and can't be good for the skin with continuous use. But it worked. Thanks for the tip I will most definitely try it out.

Wayne out here doing God's work as usual!❤ My mother has them, and now that I'm older, I do as well. Sometimes allergies, smoking, and sinus issues are the cause, and those can be helped. But when it's genetics, you're kinda screwed😂 I've found that the heavier I am, the better they look. Losing weight has made then way more obvious. I would consider CO2 laser treatments, or PRP, if they weren't so expensive.

Thank you 🙏 You certainly can improve the shadowing and hollowing under the eyes. I too had a slight problem in this area, I'm now 66. I do facial exercises every day and have done for the last 8 years. There is one particular exercise that will start to give you results within 2 weeks. The exercise is shown on a Danielle Collins video (how to get rid of eye hollowing under the eyes). Please try this Wayne, you will definitely see a difference doing this one facial exercise every day. You are such a great help to everyone....Hope you find my advice helpful.🙏❤
