China has ratified UNCLOS but they refuse to abide by the territorial limitations in the agreement. Pag-Asa Island is 505 km from Philippines while it is more than 1000 km from China. There are Filipino civilians on the island and the Philippine government is established there yet China claims we are illegally occupying it. They violate their treaty obligations and make territorial claims with no basis by bullying us because they are a bigger country.

I always thought the flashpoints for a possible conflict involving China would be with India on their border conflicts which has already resulted in the loss of lives or with Taiwan they are threatening everyday. I didnt think Philippines would be counted there.
