I realy like, its great ! And for the shot with Alice/Kidman and Bugs Bunny on the TV ... I think now, Bugs Bunny is the symbol of Warner Bros. And i see recantly on a Leon Vitali (REP) interview, i say Warner put a Bugs Bunny logo in every letters from the production. :- ) And Stanley hate that !

I made this comment elsewhere once before, thought I would repeat it here. At the start of the movie we see Alice undressing then it goes to the opening credits before showing us an establishing shot from the street and then back to the apartment where Alice and Bill are preparing to leave for the party. We assume that the first shot is Alice getting ready for the party but if you look closely at the layout of the room she is in, it's different the second time we see it. Initially there are a pair of rackets in the corner and other items that are not there the second time. 5 minutes later at the party Ziegler mentions his serve to Bill. Is Kubrick subtlety implying some connection between Ziegler and Alice with the rackets, is it just a continuity error or something else? At the party Alice asks Bill if he knows why they get invited to the event every year and Bill says it's what you get for making house calls. Alice scoffs at his explanation but says nothing else, possibly hinting that there is another reason. I have no theory, just found it interesting.

Very interesting! I'd always assumed that the first shot of Alice was complimentary to Bill as they both dress for the party but after your comments, looking at the cut again, it's clear that she's undressing and not dressing. It could be argued that she's just changing her mind about what to wear to the party but you would think that as an opening shot it should carry some significant weight to it and now that I see the tennis rackets, I'm thinking that there's much more to it than as a simple scene setter. Are we writing too much into it? Only Nicole could probably shed any light on the inclusion of this shot. So who's getting in touch with her, you or me? :)

Never heard a more curmudgeonly review of a must re-watch movie, EWS? Your video essay was only missing the "Bah Humbug" of a christmas character tossing rocks at children as they go wasseling by your bedroom widow. As for the eyes on his back, 1:35 it begins as a wide eye and then shuts. It is actually a camera flare from the lamp in front of bill that is shinning on the camera lens. But Kubric was a mad hatter at illumination (Barry Lindon) so for him to allow that glare to stay in the film, it was intentionally placed there Kubric is meticulous. You missed that Bill is in Wonderland he is the lizard that attempts to remove Alice from the white rabbit's house that she is as if wearing as a costume.

Love your video, I watched the movie for the first time weeks ago and I ended up watching 3x in a row because I became obsessed with it. Never observed the Eye right after Bill go home after the party, thats was very cool, maybe hes beeing observed by now? Let me point some things that I found interesting in the movie so we can chat about it. -Milich: whats the odd of the most characteristic character in the movie being named almost exactly as the demon these groupes worship? Even the 2 vowels being the same: Moloch. Funny thing, Moloch was a "Entity" that people, in a ritual, danced (first party), had sex (second party) and throws their babies in the fire for the this "God", there is a statue of him, they ignite inside of his sculpiture body to do that. Moloch is the entity that Alex Jones records in Bohemian Grove, the giant Owl statue, and after that, confronts every politician that was there. Besides the name, interesting things: Bill never payed Milich, after Milich offers his "children", the scene cuts, we cant know if Bill accepted, in this same scene, we can observe a scar in Milich forehead, looking exactly a Horn coming out of it, whats the chance? Where the rainbow ends? Exactly where it shows, under the rainbow, exactly where it ends? In a room where two guys are with a children. The two models from the first party calls Bill there and he never rejected, only said to be continued. Bill never asks for a shoe, why he returns Milich a pair? Bill recommending a trichologist to Moloch, the child saying on Bill ears and the teatral Moloch lines and gestures are all hints, just dont know how. Maybe the act of renting clothes and masks for the ritual is a contract itself with Moloch. I really dont know. Funny thing, in freemason, "DeMolay" is for boys and "Rainbow" is for 11-21y girls. -The second party: Why would top 0,001% rich people do tremendous job to f**k normal woman prostitutes? Considering these people are carrying theirs wifes to the party as the first one, they got not to hide, they dont need this great ritual and congregation to f**k normal woman. Whats the chance of these women representing childs? if you watch all the second party take and imagine all these woman being childs this shit becomes very stressful and mindblowing. -The first party: Well, this one is a charade for me, but has clearly a lot of tips. When Bill is dancing with Alice and they separate from each other. Bill goes with Nick and Alice goes to the other salon. But in this separation scene exactly, the couple dancing right behind Bill and Alice has a woman with a red cape, when the scene cuts with Alice alone picking a glass of Alcoohol in the corridor, the woman with the man is completely different, the clothes too, the new woman is wearing black, but the man is the same, I rewatched several times the first party to see that, maybe all the people there is in the second party or represents something. -Alice: very confusing, I cant say anything about, just make questions. What dreams of alice represents? Are they real? Are Alice in the party? How the hell the masks went to their bed with her? -Helena: confusing too, in the last scene, Helena shows a barbie right besides her, kinda representing her as a doll in a box too, the last piece of scene of Helena is her going way with 2 man that was in the first party seated in front of the angel statue and stairs. Was she selled? Kidnapped? I could be here talking for hours about the movie, but got exhauted typing. xD The movie has definitely various layers of comprehension, you can watch and like the movie only seeing one or even all of it. I see 3: 1. all being a marriage problem, where Bill suffers imagining his wife with another man and responding that he seeks other woman breaking his fidelity that Alice insists in maintein saying various times to the Hungarian man: "I'm married". 2. all being a capitalism problem, where Bill is a middle class man and exerces his power with lower people with his money and doctor documents and gets exerced by "superior" people by getting called and deceived during all movie. 3. all being a ritual/demon/p3do thing, where Bill is being started or being a victim. Sorry for writing a book, and sorry for the english, Im brazillian =P Will be happy to chat with you guys about it.

Heading down the Stanley Kubrick rabbit hole is a dangerous path Ticiano. Fans have been known to go completely mad analysing his other masterpiece, The Shining, and I try to stick to known facts rather than speculation but having said that... I agree that there's much more going on with the character Milich than that which made it into the final film. There's definitely a devil-like temptation aspect to him but I wouldn't get too wrapped up in the name. My theory is that he just took the name from a painter that his wife was likely familiar with. The paintings is Bill and Alice's apartment were real works created by Kubrick's wife and she often painted landscapes, which share some similarity in style with the Polish painter Adolf Abram Milich. Also, Milich's daughter is played by Leelee Sobieski, her father Jean Sobieski was an actor/painter who has Polish ancestry. Sobieski being a very royal name in Polish circles. Do you see the rabbit hole? Maybe Kubrick was playing out a great joke, maybe it's all just coincidence. BTW I think you're right on the money when you say that the first party is really the masquerade or masked party. I don't think I mentioned in the video, but I think a another key motive is about mirrors. Just take a look at the very first scene in the film, Bill and Alice are dressing and mirroring each other.
