Super video for a superbe game. The "Fatigue" is very well represented. Vive L'Empereur!!! 💂💂💂

Another example of why The Joe's videos are simply the best available: accurate, articulate, and informative. I have only a passing interest in Napoleonic games so I doubt that I'll get Eylau -- it's too large and involved for my tastes. Plus the decision to mix meeples with counters is very odd. Also, the Army Fatigue Point system seems backwards. An Army should *gain* fatigue as it operates instead of losing it. Instead of each army dragging around truckloads of wood, make a status track and use counters to indicate gain of, or recovery from, fatigue. Numerous other games use this system to good effect.
@StukaJoe2 ай бұрын
Thank you so much, Ken! The Army Fatigue concept could be better served and more intuitive by changing the nomenclature to something like "Fighting Spirit", so that the loss of Fighting Spirit cubes better reflects the will of the army to continue to fight. Other alternative names could be "Belligerence" or "Combativeness."
@SoundofDrums2 ай бұрын
ah, very well observed. You are right, it should be the other way round, an army gains fatigue and does not lose it. We will work on that. As for the possible chart, we wanted to keep the amount of charts and tables to a minimum. So, design decision. But thanks a lot for your hint above, funny that no one had observed it until now.

Very good video! May I ask how you perceive the rules? I have seen some complaints online that the rules are a bit undercooked atm in terms of unclearaties. I would also be interested in how you think this system holds up to other systems like "Eagles of france" or "La Bataille"?
@StukaJoe2 ай бұрын
@@l0bbe The rules need clarification in some aspects. They are working on version 1.5. I can’t compare with the other systems you mentioned, since I haven’t played them. Cheers!
@picutina12 ай бұрын
Rules are far from clear. Living rules versions have fixed some of the gaps but they need a complete rewritting. IMHO is easier than La Bat but far more complicated that Eagles of France. Mainly because of the really "undercooked" rules. I hope that version 1.5 ( better a 2.0) can fix de gaps.
@SoundofDrums2 ай бұрын
@@picutina1 you are right, we had two issues here, first spelling and syntax and then we added some details in the process (listening to some nice suggestion of gamers) and realizing that we opened a can of worms and that each "little" addition has a lot of consequences on the rules. 1.5 should be fine, really fine, we are working hard on it with two senior editors and then we will publish 2.0 and offer free physical copies of these and the chart & tables.
