Battery Point Campus New Horizons Preschool, Tasmania: Shifting practice

New Horizons preschool is heavily inspired by the Reggio Emilia educational project. The organisation have two campus’, one in Battery Point and another in Lenah Valley, Tasmania. Experienced and high qualified educators and teachers embrace pedagogies of inquiry to research and learn with children in authentic, purposeful and intentional ways. The environments, policies and practices at Battery Point Preschool are designed to build connection and relationships, with a particular focus on multi-modal teaching and learning. Documentation and the 100 languages feature strongly in the curriculum with an atelierista also employed to work alongside small groups of children.
Battery Point Preschool have undergone shifts in service delivery over the past few years and Lou, Leah and Meredith share their experiences of working in this unique space.
