I think the ghast is from the overworld but the ghast found itself in the nether and got infected by the evil. The tears are just the original ghast begging to be freed. It attacks us because they feel threaten by the trauma being in the nether. The ghast originaly was nice and loving. That's why the tears gave the regen affect. ☹️☹️

Theory: Creepers were villagers that were experimented on by illagers, and as villagers obviously don't want to be creepers, they named the sherd "Danger". So, it wasn't creepers themselves who were responsible for the destruction of the Trail Ruins, it was the illagers. See videos #4 (this video) and #2 in the series for more info. Another theory: Illagers have not just been corrupting souls, but also torturing axolotls and putting them in iron golem bodies to spawn the warden. See videos #3 and #1 in the series for more info. Minecraft legends contradicts this theory, as Creepers existed in that game too, which takes place thousands of years prior to main game Minecraft, and the Illagers were just normal villagers with grey skin back then (they weren’t evil at the time). Sure, Minecraft Legends isn’t confirmed to be canon yet, and is simply part of a legend that was passed down from villager to villager. However, legends are stories based on some level of history or reality, unlike myths, which are entirely fictional. My theory is that Creepers were created by the Hosts, just like the overworld itself.

After my research, Ghast are came from the overworld. They stopped crying in the overworld after transporting them from the nether. Then, we get achievement "Uneasy Alliance." i have a slightly different theory to why Ghasts cry so i think Ghasts are from the over world and could of been the ancient builders friends/maybe Pets then when/if the ancient builders went to the Nether the Ghast followed then Evil Nether mobs took them away. I think Ghasts cry because, like other comments, they may have been pets. Sometimes people kidnap pets today irl. And hold them for ransom. But, I think, like the piglin farms, something sussy is going on in the nether. It is supposed to look like hell, right? And what happens in hell? Hellish things. What if, a nether mob with arms, specifically the wither skeleton brought a ghast into the nether for some sort of, great experiment. The ghosts got agressive and attacked the wither skeletons. Now look at humans/Players. We have skeletons inside, right? And they mimic our body shape. What if, we look so similar to the wither skeletons that the ghasts think we are their captors and try to attack us?

Theory: Ghasts were originally friendly mobs that peacefully travelled the Nether, but the ancient builders built machines inside of them to defend the bastions and Nether fortresses that they built, so whenever a ghast sees a player, (Double theory time) theory A: The ghast gets reminded of the older times when it was turned into a machine, so it tries to kill you to prevent you from transforming it further, it also activates some kind of gem inside it (The ghast tear) that makes it heal faster when damaged. Theory B: The ancient builders were split into different civilizations, so the ancient builders made the ghasts so that if they didn't recognize the specific type of ancient builder, they'd go attack mode, but because the ghast doesn't want to hurt you, it screams as a warning and drops it's tear to heal you.

I think that in the trail ruins, villagers and pillagers lived in peace and harmony. pillagers would go hunt animals and villagers will farm and trade with antient players. One day creepers came along and blew up parts of there homes. The villagers were peaceful knowing that many harmful mobs spawn at night. But the pillagers were not... they were in rage. They realised that the villagers betrade them even though that was not the case. That rage still has a long lasting efect on todays pillagers!

The trail ruins have an interesting architectural foundation. Some of the buildings look like they could be from the deep dark, but closer to the surface. The other buildings are definitely from the overworld, but built with different materials than normal. I'm going to do some research on this. I'll get back to you with my findings, EY.

hello eystreem. i seem to have a theory of the relic disc that is different with yours. if you play relic backwards and listen till the end you can hear a joyful place until static pops up showing the builders died and they were covered up and the items in the gravel and sand were the builders items covered into sand and gravel to die. relic backwards is ciler then its ciller to killer (my friend helped me make this theory)

Theory: creepers are the corrupted version of the ancient villagers or a failed test in the village. The test exploded the village, hence turning the villagers into creepers. It makes sense because creepers are friends with villagers. But the ancient people knew the exploding caused them to turn into a monster and blowing up would turn them from a beast into nothing. Videos have been shown about how villagers are tested creepers.

Theory: If you look close enough inside of the ghast there is some sort of resemblance with a robot because of a circuit board, so maybe the ghast was programmed to shoot fire balls and is actually a robot and they cry because they are trapped in a robot form and they are crying because they want to be free and non-hostile again.

I haven't finished the video yet, I'm still on the trail ruins part, but, if there are the ancient people who made the desert temples, desert wells, ruined portals, jungle temples, and all that, it would make sense for there to be ancient villagers too, and perhaps, just like most players (that I've seen) are friendly with villagers, I'd assume the ancient builders and ancient villagers was friends too, which would also explain the friend pot thing
