The Dutch brought a very different- and dynamic- style of gymnastics to Rio. Sanne winning beam gold was the highlight of those games in my opinion.

shushunovafan Unfortunately her Split Ring Leap and her Sheep Jump cost her a lot of deductions. Probably -0.3 for each...

@@gaodrob7938 I agree in hindsight, knowing what we know about what the judges really felt about rings the years after, there is no way her ring and sheep were getting by w/o .6 off. Too much knee bending, not enough extension throughout the back. If she didn't include either of those, she probably could've made the final.

So beautiful and elegant. The code of points rewards gymnasts whose routines are full of increasingly difficult moves, they've zapped all of the art out of artistic gymnastics.
