I'd love to see more videos of Kiana demoing stuff because it's nice to have a beginner's view on a piece of gear, it gives a good idea of what something will sound like for someone starting out really.

Actually, this demonstration was very helpful in many ways that might not be obvious to some people.... 1. She is refreshingly honest about being a novice... 2. She isn't "shredding" needlessly while demoing the various sounds she's dialing up. 3. She's demoing a practice amp, and isn't sure if she's going to ever use the advanced settings/features....But she knows they're there.... The "dirty joking" isn't helpful to the final product, and aren't productive, making her clearly uncomfortable...She's awesome for putting herself out there, knowing she hasn't honed her skills as a guitarist YET, but is willing to make mistakes on camera, knowing that some immature people will make fun....She's awesome, and I look forward to watching and listening to her grow into a skilled guitarist!

Well I bought a VT40X off the back of this review and the full one. I too am a beginner but the opposite preference to Kiana I prefer the USB to PC option to change the settings. Love the way there are some preset song setups like Sweet Child of Mine so you can see what the band used (roughly) and being able to add in pedals is awesome. Great work guys!

She has no personality and doesnt know much of anything but because Shes cute, everyone jocks Her shit and gives Her incredible opportunities like this without earning them. She has Her own channel and it would be nothing without Henning or Glenn putting Her in the spotlight and letting Her use their notoriety. I doubt She'll be doing anything music related on Her channel in 5 years. If Shes still doing this at all, its going to be a vlog about nothing at all or Her showing off Her body for likes. yes she is cute, but, I think you're onto something. the product demos we all like are always done by people who really know their stuff and have lots of knowledge that helps them understand, use, and demo the product. beginners OTOH don't have all that. and they will not sound anything like that he pro when they buy that gear. watching another beginner trying to use the product will give them a better idea of how difficult it is to use and how they are likely to sound.

The VT40+ had more effects, models and it was more like a beginner's toy to fuck around with nothing more. The VT40X confused me because I didn't understand it was a new version and didn't expect such great sound. This thing goes from crystal clean Fender to completely original British rumble (my favourite) to legendary high gain top of the line amps and it all sounds legit. Good job VOX. I kind of quit the "sport" of playing guitar these several years, I mostly sing so I wanted to buy a mic then I saw this and the in depth video of this amp. So I researched and thought about it a lot and today I spent 400+ euros on a mic a preamp and the VT20X and I'll be back in the game after so long 🤘 (Money isn't that easily earned in my country if you're wondering)

i actually find this review useful. very useful. this amp is not really meant for the pro touring musician as much as it's meant as a solution for the first practice amp. In that regard it has a lot of things going for it such as effects, and models. lots of great tones that I would have loved during that stage. What's cool about this review is it shows exactly how your daughter, son, niece or nephew, ect will react to this amp and what the learning curve will be. its also an honest opinion on it. she isn't colored by history or reputation. she just tried it and said what she thought. "I like it. its a little complicated and i would have to get used it and read the manual but for all that, its a pretty good sounding starter amp". KIana is pretty, witty, and charming but that's not the thing about this.

i had the same experience with my nephews vox vt40 amp. the layout is fine...just a little clumsy. but it sounds good. maybe not the best sounding amp ever.....but great for what it is.

Did yours really seem quiet on comparison to others amps?? I have just got one of these thinking I was upgrading from my Fender frontman 20g. And my Vox is really quiet in comparison to the Fender. Volume at 2 on the fender is on the VOX 3/4 the way up the dial. Not sure if this is a defective one or there's an easy fix.

Even if a person is well acquainted with a product that does not mean he or she will be stellar at doing a demo on the product right off the bat. Being in front of a camera can be intimidating, especially, if said person is not controlling how the video is being done. Being put on the spot can make a person who is normally confident and competent appear to be less than capable.

Maybe it would be better to let Kiana prepare the video rather than just put her in front of the cam, Henning. You have years of experience with production and presentation, and can grasp and present what gear does immediately when you see it in a way someone new to this can't. While it's a valuable learning experience to be thrown in the water to swim and she does okay, this video is not the most informative gear review, even for a beginner, and I'm sure she could do a better job demoing this amp with time to prepare. For her next demos, maybe you could lend her gear for use at home and give her time to make an outline of what to present when in the video? That way she gets to use cool stuff more, we get better videos, you get more views, I win the lottery, everybody wins!

Completely agree with you, Martin. If Henning plugged me into this amp and threw me in front of the camera I'd be completely useless, so fair play to Kiana for doing a decent job. But give her a little preparation time and it could go a long way.

I actually think it's cool, because you get the information in a way that's better suited to beginners, with things they'd be interested with and actually use, rather than more advanced players who are interested in the more advanced setting and goings on in the amp. It's also helping teach her how to A: Not only be able to make these videos to cut down on Henning's load, but also teaching her in a way where it comes from her.

I agree, and this is definitely an asset. You don't see this kind of teacher - student interaction often on KZbin. That demonstration of frequency content was pretty useful and I now have a better way of explaining it to someone. But it's wedged in the middle of the demo as a digression from talking about distortion channels. It would be cool in it's own videos, or better integrated into the demo.

Try a Valvetronix Tonelab SE it has 96 editable patches and was one of the best things Vox ever made.

I know you're having fun however, your constant interruptions, jokes, mugging, giggles, and witty comments, make this video impossible to watch. I've enjoyed your other videos and found them informative but this is unwatchable. It would have been great seeing someone who has a different modeling amp, walk through the Vox VT40X, basically learning as she goes, however you ruined that possibility. Yes, you two have chemistry and a a few jokes peppered here and there would have been enjoyable but, you simply do not stop interrupting her. You interrupt her every few seconds, you took what could have been an entertaining and informative video and just made it aggravating. I was looking for information on the Vox VT40X but this is not it.

Would be better to ask her to bring her amp and compare them both with mic farther away to capture the room sound. Maybe let her ALONE with it and capture some time lapse and slow it down when she plays and then discuss with her and ask her questios that would compare them both. Would make her more comfortable and we could get her point of view with less awkwardness and more to the point.

I don't think it was a great idea to use a this guitar with that amp (the Starstream costs €750-800). An Epiphone or Squier would have been better option of guitar for this video considering the people that would be buying the VT40X. Using a modelling guitar on top of a modelling amp doesn't make much sense to me.
