For how important performance is, it's very rare to see people actually try in it. Kacper did and look what happened. Pretty inspiring to me to be completely honest.

Kacper had one of the best comeups in yoyoings. 2015 won Junior division at EYYC, 2016 got to Finals in 1A, wins the nationals later that year, makes finals at EYYC 2017 again, 2018 lands a spot in top 3 and 2019 wins the title. Mad props

Such a well constructed, well performed freestyle! Huge congrats to Kacper for nailing this on stage. Also, the no look rail was such a nice touch; very very impressive.

People down voting this should be ashamed. Kacper put in a lot of work and 100% deserved it. Just because your favorite player didnt win doesnt mean you should bash the winner. Its childish and rude. Congrats Kacper, don’t listen to the haters😎.

Lmao is it wrong that i just didnt like this freestyle ? To me winning beacuse of your percormance score sounds weird to me, i dont hate the guy lol he deserves top 3.

You are free to dislike it but perfomance is a big part of how freestyles are scored. Its just so disrespectful to hate on him for it. Don’t hate the player, hate the game.

@@pallgumundsson1677 pretty much sure all the hate itself is adressed to the scroing system. for example we heard A LOT after WYYC in shanghai, and also there were a lot of shit said. judges should get paid and after this it would be easy to reach that standard of scoring and at least to fine them for error. but to fine somebody you need to pay them first, lol

Changyu XIU Yup, Gacek was one of the most important persons in the Polish yoyo community he mentored and helped Kacper making him into the player he is today. In this freestyle Kacper used the song Gacek used at his last EYYC as a competitor, I like to believe the song choice was dedicated to Gacek.

this is good! the arrangements in his freestyle is on point, as well a clean freestyle. you can definitely see his usage of stage, and tricks very much inspired from Gentry. and at 1:52 , man that's just crazy awesome!

I know that performance is pretty big, and that his evals were clearly the best, but its not like Tony's evals were bad, and Tony had a much better tech score, so can someone PLEASE explain to me why Tony didn't at least place top 3? With the current judging system, I don't see how you can do 3 or 4 rail combos, and still win a contest, so I am really confused. Someone please explain this to me....

tony's tech score was less than 2 points higher than kacper's, while I agree that tony had a better trickset, he didn't go clean (he was missing string grabs, got stuck in a few mounts, etc.). Remember that those non-clean elements subtract from your TE score, and so he lost a bit there, and had a shaky horizontal trick thrown in at the end with no frontstyle tricks at all. tony also got absolutely murdered in the freestyle points because his movement around the stage was minimal, all of the movement during his tricks was forced out by the trick he was performing (for example kendama knees when doing whips/suicides or leaning back during behind the back catches), and he never looked up from his yoyo through the entire freestyle kacper's performance was insanely clean, and while his trickset might not have been diverse he played to his strengths by ramping on the performance aspect while also trying to diversify the ways he could reuse his comfortable set of elements (frontstyle and horizontal), and he looked hella confident doing it while i think tony got robbed out of top3, i think kacper definitely deserved this win
@asaovall325

mmm t agree. Because it’s starting to be “doesn’t matter the trick, as long as it it’s clean and looked like it was practiced” kinda thing
